F4 Photographic Group: Monochrome China
Street and Industrial Observations

Following our Primary Colours competition, the second half of the evening takes us into black and white as Alan presents photographs from his travels and work across China.

From everyday street life and unscripted moments to factories and people at work in industrial settings rarely seen by visitors, this collection brings together two very different sides of the country.

With an emphasis on people, texture, light and shadow, it offers a fascinating look at a different chapter of Alan's photography, away from the wildlife work he is better known for today.

All are welcome, including visitors and prospective new members. Join us for an evening of colour, contrast and photographic storytelling.

F4 Photographic Group: PDI Round 1 - Primary Colours

This will be the first half of the evening, followed by a presentation by member Alan Young.

Our first competition of the year spotlights RED, YELLOW and BLUE. Join us to see how members use these colours to create striking photographs.

Following our recent discussion, here is a reminder for entrants:

Submit three separate images.
The main subject of each image should be predominantly one primary colour: red, yellow or blue.
Choose any combination: three of the same colour, one of each, or a mixture such as one red and two blue.
Your images do not need a shared theme. Each can feature a completely different subject.

All are welcome, including visitors and anyone interested in joining F4. Come along and enjoy an evening of photography, colour and different perspectives.

Chairman's Presentation: Photographs in my Life

Join F4 Photography for an evening with our Chairman, Gareth, as he shares the photographs and experiences that have shaped his life in photography.

From keen hobbyist and semi-professional photographer to commissioning photography for work, and now curating a large heritage image collection, Gareth has experienced photography from several fascinating perspectives.

He will bring those experiences together in a personal talk, sharing photographs that hold particular meaning for him and the stories behind them.

Come along to discover what makes these images so memorable. New members are very welcome, whether you are an experienced photographer or simply curious about getting started.

The F4 season got off to great start with a review of the Summer Challenge - photo essays based on the "Hull Fish Trail". Congratulations to Sarah Clinch for her winning entry "All the Fish in the Sea" - and also to runner-up Daniel Senft for his mono triptych and Steve Littlewood in third place with his "fishy pattern"

Beverley Photography Club Annual Exhibition

Our Annual Exhibition returns to the magnificent Beverley Minster from 3rd to 17th August.

The exhibition will feature a diverse collection of striking images created by our talented members, celebrating creativity, technical skill and a shared passion for photography.

The world class racing yacht CAT ZERO will be berthed in Hull Marina on the evening of the 6th August.
A great opportunity for F4 members to get on board and take some pictures – or just have a look around this rather special vessel.
