About Thursday…

Before a great weekend covering BTCC for I popped into town to see these guys - parade their trophy.

This might mean nothing to those ‘bandwagon’ supporters of the so-called ‘big clubs’ but for us it was big. Nan was born and lived in Victoria road Aston and uncle (great - to me) Charlie ran the lions club players bar at Villa park. To go with my dad who was there in 82 was very special.

Naturally took my ‘big’ camera and here’s what I got.

Even saw it on tv (last photo) as I held it above my head!

Someone decided she wasn’t playing ball… very quickly… so limited angles… she waited till she thought I wasn’t looking, but I still had the remote and kept my eye on her from the conservatory…. 😂

Hard to believe that both that GT3 is 20 and now ‘historic’.

Could have had a post on its own… maybe it should have?

Anyway…Somehow need to learn how to post less photos (don’t laugh, those who know me…!).

Pleased with these as I did most starts, flag and podiums which meant track time was a little bit limited (by choice I might add!)

Spring Gala Sunday (only) a couple of weeks ago.

Would like to have done some station and people/atmosphere stuff. However, having first looked at the timetable at 10pm Saturday, as I only got back from at 9pm, and not having had any time to plan in the prior week I really went down on spec and planned out the day as it unfolded.

Shame only did 2 passes of the line as the loco gets a bit lost in the shots from Hawksbatch viewing point.

I still haven’t quite made that stunning spot work as I’d like and I’d like to find a way/time/edit where the green and black engines don’t get lost in the trees at the Victoria bridge.

Lots to think about and improve on next time.

Severn Valley Railway Spring Gala, Sunday. Only looked at the timetable at about 10.30 Saturday night having been in Kielder for Kielder Forest Rally on saturday and planning that the week before.

Disapointed that Duke of Gloucester only did 2 full runs of the line which really limited what I could do - not a bad return though for an on the hoof make it up as you go along day, Although far too many photos of the LMS engine for my liking!
