Onto new horizons…✨

After starting out as a freelancer 14 years ago in the West Midlands, my partner and I have relocated to Sheffield! It was the right time for both of us, feeling drawn to family commitments and, being led by our hearts, we stumbled across the steel city.

My time in The Midlands has given me so much richness, in connections, friendships, family & building my business. In these 14+ years I’ve experienced all sorts of losses and wins and I know I’m moving forwards with gratitude & growth. It’s lovely too that I’m just up the road and I’ll no doubt be back and forth on various projects.

I’m so excited to settle into Sheffield life and I’m already so inspired by the networks of good people doing great things. I’m a bit giddy too to have the peaks as my new back garden! Cue the drone spam…

Please do reach out if you’d like to get in touch for any collaborations or simply grab a coffee - I’d love to connect 🙌🏻

Very happy & excited that my work is being exhibited in Skövde, Sweden in collaboration with amazing Swedish artist

You are invited into the space to sit/stand/jump and travel with the drone through the Swedish forest. There is a poetic audio experience in which you can hear my voice opening up a dialogue exploring the themes of insecurity, disappointment, the natural world, pain and hope.

This video and audio experience is supported beautifully by Berith’s gorgeous textile work and surroundings, people are welcomed to thread onto the net however they want to. Berith first welcomed me to have a residency last April and as I explored poetry and the use of film and its relationship with nature we both realised we had a lot in common! Both recovering/suffering from chronic ill health we felt the need and importance to make work that centres rest, as a form of resistance, at its heart - both in the work and the supporting materials around the work. It’s now a joy that this is happening! And it has been a joy to work on.

Later this month I’ll be heading to Sweden to give an artist talk - which will be a great honour!

Massive thanks to , and for this wonderful opportunity 🙏💚

Great fun filming and celebrating Holi, the Festival of Colours, Love and Spring for the ‘Warwick Presents’ team . So joyful to come along and jump into the action with everyone - so much warmth and love! I didn’t expect to be covered in the powders too but I love that people felt they could bypass the camera and smear my face! Also super glad I wrapped the cameras up. Going to be some great images from this one.

Happy Holi everyone!

Last July I was invited by the amazing Talking Birds () for a hatching residency at The Nest for 10 days. I went in with one ‘sort of’ idea and came out with another! It was brilliant to build on my time in Sweden with looking over my drone footage and sound recordings. My mentor session with was invaluable and has led me to exploring different vehicles for expression; such as poetry! I went for walks with my cameras looking at my relationship with nature. Who’d have thought slugs making babies was such a beautiful image..!

I was suffering a lot at the time with Lyme Disease so coming in each day looked to be quite a challenge. However, have an amazing ethos when it comes to access needs and I was able to take it at the pace I needed. This included being relaxed about start and finish of the day, having a rest area in my room where I could nap and giving me space without pressure for sharing an outcome. I believe this time was a pivotal point for me with my recovery. Huge thanks to 🧡🧡

Looking forward to sharing more soon about where this journey is taking my work.

My first attempt at super 8mm filmmaking was for ‘s first solo show After All. After All is a show celebrating our vulnerable and courageous existence, exploring the death rituals we have; the ones lost and those that need inventing.

This collaboration was an exciting undertaking and started in lockdown 2021. Solène asked me to help create a ‘visual eulogy’ which would go on to be projected within the show - during her funeral! Together Solène and I documented joyful moments of life, through the seasons, capturing the senses.

It was an exciting challenge to film on super 8, knowing that the stakes were high as each roll cost so much to be developed! It was brilliant to be disciplined with how I filmed, not being able to check each shot until it had been committed to the tape and sent away for processing. I was always on the edge of my seat when the roll came back, and absolutely delighted that *most* of the shots came out beautifully. (We won’t mention the out of focus material I had spent a day exploring in the wilderness to capture…)

After All was premiered at Edinburgh Fringe 2023 and I first got to see it at in September 23. If you get the chance to see Solène’s brilliant show, do go see!

My first freelance film job came from a chap called Paul Warwick back in 2012. I had just moved to the Midlands and had no idea that this first job in theatre would lead to a life-long love of the arts, let alone a whole bunch of work + friendship!

Through China Plate I’ve had the pleasure of filming Chris Thorpe and many many more.

So grateful for the 12 year working relationship with Paul, Ed and the team at China Plate Theatre 🙌🏻❤️ and to all the artists I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Here’s to many more exciting collaborations.

In April 2023 I was invited to a rural village, Stenum near Skara, in Sweden by local artist Berith Stennabb for a 10 day residency.

Here within the lakes and the trees I was able to spend time with my practice, experimenting and playing with my drone/camera/sound recorder. It was a unique opportunity to allow my creativity to find its expression without the need for any specific outcome. I've enjoyed building on my time in Sweden since then and I'm looking forward to sharing what's next!
