This image of the Eagle Nebula, featuring the famous 'Pillars Of Creation' - was captured whilst in Zakynthos, Greece with my SeeStar S50 - a target which I've not been able to image before here in Scotland. I didn't get as much data as I would of liked (too many Mojitos) but I'm pleased with the final image I've got.

Look what arrived on my door-step this afternoon! 🤩 So excited to try out the new SeeStar S50Pro (when we eventually get some clear skies).

I’ve had my original SeeStar S50 since it first launched - it has truly been a game changer for astrophotography. The new S50Pro unleashes a new unit with upgraded optics, a larger sensor, better tracking, also it has a second wide-field camera attached for Milky Way/ Timelapse
photography and much more.

I’m so excited to see what it can do and hope to bring you guys some images soon! ✨

Absolutely thrilled that my images have been shortlisted for the FINAL of The Courier UK ‘Photographer Of The Year’ which takes place on the 25th August.

My images along with many other incredible works will feature in a public exhibition in the DC Thomson Building (2 Albert Street, Dundee) which will be open from Wednesday 26th August until Friday 4th September, between 9am & 5pm (no booking required).

A short timelapse - sadly not the best conditions but definitely better than I was expecting. Amazing to experience such a deep partial eclipse - the atmosphere around maximum was very eerie. Did you manage to see it where you were? Let me know in the comments below ⬇️

🌙 THIS coming Wednesday, you may have heard we have a Partial Solar Eclipse which will be around 90% deep here in the East of Scotland.

The partial eclipse will begin with first contact at 6:08pm (BST), reaching maximum coverage at 7:05pm and concluding at 8pm.

You will need a good clear view of the Western horizon as the Sun will be getting quite low at the time of eclipse.

I will of course be attempting to capture the event. Here’s hoping the weather is kind to us here in Scotland.

AS WELL as the Partial eclipse - the Perseid meteor shower peaks on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. With the Moon in its ‘new’ phase - this is a brilliant opportunity to see some meteors streaming across the night sky! 🌌
