A few weeks ago on a crisp winter day, I met Marta Barbosa Stephens for a portrait photoshoot.

Marta is the only Brazilian living on the and she is a published author! She asked me to take portraits she could use to promote her new book. We naturally chose Ryde Beach for our location as it has been her home for the last several years.

I loved meeting Marta and photographing her; we talked about Brazil and our common experience of being foreigners on the Island. Before our face froze off, we went into Chocolate Apothecary to warm up and share more stories over hot chocolate. It was a fun morning, here are the highlights😍

(even though I don't read Portuguese it's very exciting to see these photos we took being published in the newspaper in Brazil!)
