🎥 BBC News & The One Show Bob is an extremely friendly robin who loves his picture taken as he helps me out in the garden. He regularly features in live videos where you can see what he's up to. I also share other images as I am passionate

about all types of photography: wildlife, macro, landscape and pets. The story of me and Bob the robin was featured on the BBC News, Belgian News, Fox News and went global. My photos have featured on BBC Springwatch and published in local papers. Also, many of my photos have been chosen for Photo of the day on the BBC South East page. I'm proud to have been asked to help judge a photography competition to help raise awareness of the decline of songbirds in the UK. I've also been asked by a college to teach photography, which is something I might persue simply because I enjoy helping others. I find photography extremly healing and I genuinely think it's good for my mental health, if I can help other people find this happy place, then I'm doing something right. I have a selection of greeting cards, prints and calendars available of the animals I photograph. I also do Charity auctions selling my prints to help raise money for good causes.

Saa, with the swagger, followed by puppy dog eyes 😂

Bobette, she has a way of distracting me 🥰
And of course, Saa in the background 🐶

Bobette, cleaning my car for me 🥰
She was collecting nesting material, obviously for her nest (this was a couple of weeks ago). It’s nice to know Pup and Saa are probably helping to keep her babies warm 🐶🧡

Chartwell, the home of Sir Winston Churchill
Also, another historic treasure on my doorstep, just up the road from my hometown of Edenbridge! I believe my grandfather did some maintenance work on a wall somewhere in the grounds for Churchill, although I don’t know exactly where. The views are stunning, the place is rich in history as you can imagine the guests he entertained from Charlie Chaplin to Albert Einstein, see his study where he wrote his infamous speeches. A great day out of you’re in the area. 😊

Life under the old plum tree, a wonder to look at in the spring with its brilliant white cap of blossoms covering every branch, with the deafening hum of bees gathering pollen. Lucky the robin now occupies the canopy along with Bobette. This isn’t just any plum tree, this is Bob the robins plum tree, the heart of our story. 🧡

Male and female robin 🥰
Lucky and Bobette
Does the shape or makings of their heads tell us if they’re male or female? I’ve heard this a lot and if I’m honest I wouldn’t rely on it to tell them apart, unless I knew them as individuals, and the reason being it can be so difficult to see the V shape of the female and the straight line of the male at any given time, but I can see it with these two and I do sometimes look for it to quickly identify who is with me if I haven’t already established that. A way of telling I once dismissed is actually a way of telling after all, definitely going by these two robins. 🧡

This song was released 30 years ago!
This post is a little different to normal, but I love this song, so I’m sharing it with you. I’m so pleased I got to see Pulp perform this last year! The little things that happen and decisions that can and do make a big difference in life, like meeting Bob the robin, what if I hadn’t let him into my life? But I did and the rest is history.
Thanks for the music and thanks for making me think.

Bobette and Lucky, helped me split some logs 🙂
Bobette is calling for him to feed her, but he scoots off!
I’ve watched him and he’s been doing a great job actually. She appears to be spending more time on the nest now, so hopefully young ones on the way 🥰

Baby robins 🥰
Two of the babies in my garden, one being fed by mum or dad. So lovely to see them 🧡
