As the summer show season comes to an end I have been reflecting on my year so far and we all know it’s a tough market out there at the moment but sometimes i have to remind myself just how far i have come.
I started off selling my photos on cards and prints just over 3 years ago, where one of my first markets actually took place in the boot of my car 🙈
In May 2025 I purchased my first gazebo so I could expand the variety of craft fairs I could attend.
I also started making my slate coasters so this was my first market selling them!
I bit the bullet and applied for my first agricultural show, they are more of a risk as the stall fees are a lot higher, however I soon discovered they are a great place to reach a different audience to “get your name out there”
Winning my first rosette in only my second year of attending agricultural shows was a great boost in confidence!
Finishing this summer off by creating my own craft fair full of local handmade small businesses has definitely been a highlight in the past 3 years and really does show how far I have come.
Don’t worry I still have lots more craft fairs booked in for the year, especially as it leads up to Christmas. But I’m definitely looking forward to next year where I will be cramming in even more craft fairs!
I am so glad 3 years ago I decided to apply for craft fairs, as I couldn’t imagine where my business would be know if I didn’t!
