Your wedding day doesn’t have to belong to everyone else. 🤍

With a venue full of family and friends waiting for them, Chloe & Matthew took a little time away from it all at Coombe Lodge to exchange personal vows privately.

No audience. No microphones. No rows of people listening.

Just the two of them.

We stayed far enough away to give them that privacy, while still quietly capturing something that was incredibly important to them.

And we love this idea.

Wedding days can be wonderfully busy. There’s always someone to talk to, somewhere to be and something happening — and before you know it, hours have disappeared.

So whether it’s private vows, ten minutes together after the ceremony, or simply sneaking away from the reception for a walk, make a little space in the day that belongs only to you.

Your guests will still be there when you get back. 🤍

Some wedding details mean a little more than others. 🤍

Flowers, shoes, rings, perfume… there are so many beautiful details to photograph on the morning of a wedding.

But then there are the ones with a story behind them.

Rebekah had this pocket watch waiting for Liam on their wedding day, engraved with a message just for him:

Forever & always.

It’s the kind of detail that could so easily disappear amongst everything happening that morning — but it’s also something they’ll still have long after the wedding day itself.

That’s why we love photographing the little things too.

Because sometimes they’re not really little things at all. 🤍

If you’re wondering whether you should have confetti… this is your sign. 🎉

Torz & Chris emerging from their ceremony at Tortworth Court into an absolute storm of confetti — and judging by those faces, I think their guests understood the assignment. 😂

Confetti is one of those parts of a wedding day that lasts seconds, but gives you some of the most brilliantly unpredictable photographs.

Nobody needs to pose. Nobody needs to worry about the camera. Just walk, laugh, hold onto each other and enjoy having all your favourite people celebrating around you.

And yes… more confetti is nearly always better. 🤍

You spend a LOT of your wedding day with your photographer… so make sure you actually like them. 😂🤍

Of course you need to love their photographs.

But we think there’s something just as important…

You need to feel comfortable with the people behind the camera.

Your photographer is there while you’re getting ready, during some of the most emotional moments of the day, organising family photos, disappearing with you for couple portraits and generally popping up everywhere from morning until evening.

So before you book, have a conversation.

Ask questions.

Tell them about your plans.

See whether you can imagine spending one of the biggest days of your life with them.

Because the more relaxed you feel around your photographer, the easier it becomes to forget the camera is there — and that’s when the photographs really start to feel like you. 🤍

That’s exactly why we love meeting couples at wedding fayres and offering relaxed video calls before booking.

It gives you the chance to meet us, get to know how we work and decide whether we’re the right fit for your day.

If your photographer suddenly appears and says, “Can we steal you for ten minutes?”… trust them. ☀️

Sometimes the best light on a wedding day doesn’t arrive according to the timeline.

It might appear during your drinks reception, between courses, or just as everyone is beginning to settle into the evening.

And when it does, we might ask you to sneak away with us for a few minutes.

You don’t need another hour-long photoshoot. You don’t need to disappear from your guests for ages. Sometimes ten quiet minutes together, in the right light, is all we need.

And you get a little breather too — just the two of you, away from the noise of the day for a moment. 🤍

The best speech photos aren’t always of the person giving the speech… 😂

They’re Jamie realising exactly where the story is going.

Michelle laughing beside him.

The bridesmaids raising a glass.

And the guests around the room absolutely loving every second of it.

Speeches are one of our favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph because while everyone is listening to one person, we’re watching everyone else.

The reactions. The glances across the table. The laughter. The please don’t tell that story moments. 😂

Because years later, you might not remember every word that was said.

But you’ll remember how it felt to have a room full of your favourite people laughing with you. 🤍

Dancing on the clouds… ☁️✨

There are first dances.

And then there are first dances that look like THIS.

Emily & Rhys took to the dance floor at Eastington Park surrounded by clouds, twinkling lights and one seriously fabulous wedding dress.

And once Emily started spinning, that skirt understood the assignment. 😍

There’s something pretty magical about watching the room disappear beneath the clouds while the two of you have those first few minutes on the dance floor together.

Romantic, dramatic and just a little bit fairytale.

If you’re wondering whether dancing on the clouds looks as good in photographs as it does in real life…

We think these might answer that. 🤍

Give your guests something to do… and watch the fun happen. 😂

Alice & Toby’s drinks reception at Eastington Park had exactly the right idea.

Drinks flowing, everyone mingling, lawn games spread across the gardens and a magician making his way around the guests.

And while you’re off having a few photographs together, everyone else is very definitely NOT standing around wondering what to do next.

They’re playing.

They’re chatting.

They’re getting far too competitive over a garden game they hadn’t heard of ten minutes earlier.

They’re trying to work out how on earth the magician just did that.

And they’re enjoying your wedding.

We love this part of the day because there’s so much happening everywhere you look — and while everyone is busy having fun, we can simply wander around capturing it.

Because some of the best photographs from your wedding won’t necessarily be of you.

They’ll be of all your favourite people having an absolutely brilliant time too. 🤍

A little behind the scenes of what a wedding photographer actually does… 📸

Sometimes it’s taking the photo. Sometimes it’s finding the perfect light. And sometimes it’s arranging several layers of wedding dress until they fall just right. 😂

We’re there for so much more than simply turning up with a camera.

From straightening dresses and fixing buttonholes to keeping an eye on timings, finding missing bouquets and helping things run smoothly, we’ll always muck in wherever we’re needed.

Because those little details make a difference — both to your photographs and to how relaxed your day feels. 🤍

When you’re ready… and suddenly your wedding is happening right outside the window. 🤍

Hair and make-up finished.
Guests beginning to arrive.
And just a little while left before it’s time to put on the dress and head to the ceremony.

We love this part of a wedding morning.

There’s often a lovely change in atmosphere once you start seeing guests arrive. The months of planning are over, the venue is filling with the people you love, and everything you’ve been waiting for is suddenly about to happen.

These photographs of Emma at Hensol Castle capture that feeling beautifully — that little pocket of time between getting ready and becoming the bride everyone is waiting to see.

A few quiet minutes before the next part of the day begins. 🤍
