10 YEARS + 1 Day!!! 📷🎉

Yesterday marked my 10 year anniversary in this industry, and 10 years of marriage for Danielle and Duncan, obviously!!! Huge congratulations to you guys first and foremost, big love to the family!! 😘

This was one of my very first weddings, I think I'd shot 2 small days before this, but this was the spark, the one that made me realise I wanted to do this thing. And yeah, I didn't really know what I was doing, I cut lots of feet off, missed focus on countless frames, barely had a clue how to use a flash gun, but I had 2 cameras and a handful of lenses, and the desire to do my best for these guys. I learnt show much from this day, I continue to learn, it never ends, but I will always be eternally grateful to Danners and Dunc for seeing the smallest bit of potential in me and trusting me to document their day.

If you're at the start of this journey and you're heading to your first job this summer, buckle up and enjoy the ride, you're in for a great time. I can still remember those nerves and the anxiety though, the pressure to deliver and produce a high standard of work, comparing my output to the established photographers in the industry, but just remember this, we all start somewhere. Just go into it with a big smile, and never lose that desire to always want your work to improve, and trust me, you'll be rewarded with a level of job satisfaction that is simply unrivalled in so many other jobs.
