Recently we’ve helped a brand create content for their new product launch and we wanted to take you behind the scenes to see how many light we actually used to get the final result!

We’ve used a grand total of 4 lights and here is how they work:
1) Key light: Bare bulb above the product, positioned at 45 degrees. This light is set to quite high power and it illuminates the majority of the product.
2) Backdrop Light: This was a strip soft box with a grid and a blue gel. Shooting through a diffusion and practically touching it. This is what gives us that beautiful blue gradient.
3 & 4) Both of these were side lights, with grids, giving us some highlights around the product. Again, had to be quite careful where they sit and it was easy to get blown out highlight!
