Ventured off to the huge 390+ foot cooling towers of Willington Power Station, which were erected between 1954 and 1962.
Station A was constructed between 1954 and 1957, and Station B was built between 1960 and 1962. The entire power station, including the cooling towers, was developed between 1954 and 1960.
However, Station A was decommissioned in 1995, and Station B was decommissioned in 1999.
These towers have been stood at the site since the decommissioning of the station, and loom over the village of Willington, Derbyshire to this day.
(Also we got some food and drinks at the Nadee Restaurant and Mad Hatters Tea Room Findern. Absolutely recommend these two establishments if you're in the area!)
