I think I've accidently become a gig photographer - or more accurately a Growing Pains gig photographer after capturing them for the sixth time yesterday; when they were performing on the bill of 's last ever gig by ...

Each & every one has been brilliant to see & great fun to document; it's also been great watching the band develop their own voice as they introduce their own songs into their set...

Here are a few of the photos - i'll leave them to share the music on their own page, where you'll also get details on upcoming gigs, their debut Is next up

Amy & Keane recently spent a few days in Derry while enjoying a tour of Ireland with along with their close friends - Pam, Paul. John. Ellen, Todd, and Christy....

Amy's birthday happened to fall while in town & so Abby at Savvy Travel got in touch with me to help them organise a group photoshoot.
On the day I meet them at the city hotel and despite the offer of their bus we decided to brave the typical Irish spring day & splash our way around the town taking in the sites, hiding from the heavier downpours & stopping along the way for some fairly informal photos... before stategically finishing up where they were booked in for lunch...

Here's a look at their morning...

I made myself unable for a photography job recently as something just didn't feel right about it - and I seem to have been rewarded for that decision with a run of amazing clients who've been happy to trust me to work the way I work best!

The latest such clients were Steve Batts & Amanda Koser who asked me to tag along for the day to document Spaces, Places, Traces Music & Movement in Light & Shadow a fantastic series of 'mediative, improvised outdoor performances featuring dance & music around Derry...

This is a small collection of images from the day by myself & my photography collaborator on the day

I had the pleasure of spending this afternoon in the company of Tasha & Gavin, and their families & friends...

A super relaxed ceremony in the Guildhall ceremony was followed by a dander around town, before heading off to O'Flaherty's- but not before doing what every Derry wan does in Buncrana on a sunny day - stopping at the beach, then getting a pink & white ice-cream!!

Eimear got in a touch a while back to ask me to take some family photographs to document Cillian's First Communion - with the sun shining there was no where more appropriate for us to head to than Brooke Park, one of Cillians to-go places...

I've been thinking since how best to describe my communion & family photoshoots and my current thinking is they are a child-lead collaboration!!

Cillian has his favourite spots in the park, so I asked him show me & off we all dandered together... on our way around he suggested some photos, occasionally I did as well & we were also under the watchful eye of his wee sister who had plenty of her own ideas too - I find this works as it places no immediate demands on the kids & gives them a bit of ownership of the time...

So here are a few shoots I took.- with creative input from Cillian & Cora!!

I spent a lovely hour or so in Donegal Town earlier obstensibly updating some photos of the public realm work in The Diamond for the architects who looked after the, relatively, recent redesign - but also indulging in a spot of street photography... The reason being that part of the brief was to show how people use & enjoy the space...

The majority of the shots were taken candidly, but for one or two i did approach the folks in them to let them know what I was doing....

Today seems an appropriate day to kick off a wee series of wedding photographs....

So here's a few of the couples who've invited me to be part of their days over the last couple of years & who have put their trust in me to naturally document their day as it unfolded with no fuss & very little interference....

I was recently reminded of a mantra that goes a big way to explaining my approach - the photos are about the wedding, the wedding isn't about the photos...

I had a pleasant surprise just before Christmas when were asked to join the bill for the & Christmas band night - meaning I got a another go at sayin 'i'm with the band....', I must google how many gigs it takes before you become a bands 'official photographer'... ;-)

Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed their performance - which included Idles, Radiohead, The Clash & Wham - a seasonal addition to their set list...
