Take a quick look at what goes on behind the scenes on a pet portrait session…
This seems to be the new ‘thing’ on social media so we’re giving it a go to show you guys the makings of the images you see in your feed.
We shoot predominantly with dogs on a lead, and coach owners on how to position themselves, guide their dogs to their mark, and we try to keep everything very calm and relaxed because the less stress there is the better the photos will be and the more you’ll enjoy your session.
This was a short session for rescue dog ‘Fleur’ who is in need of surgery on her nose to help her breath, so we were capturing some photos of her to help with her appeal. She’s in the care of and I’m sure they’ll have all the information online in due course.

Ness Woods Evening Mini Sessions
Friday 12th June

We have very limited availability for our pet portrait mini sessions on the evening of Friday 12th of June in the beautiful Ness Woods. Located just 15 minutes outside L’Derry just off the A6 this really is a hidden gem of a place.

An ancient oak woodland, with well established paths which lead to the (sometimes) dramatic waterfall make it a fabulous place for dogs and owners to stretch their legs. If you haven’t been before it might just become your new favourite walking spot.

Our pet portrait sessions take the form of a short walk, with stop offs along the way for photos. All dogs are photographed with their leads on, and these are the removed at the editing stage. We do this for two reasons…firstly for the safety of your dog and your reassurance, and secondly to help maximise the time we have together shooting. You’ll have plenty of time to run afterwards, so 20 minutes on lead shouldn’t be too big an ask.

Session length: 20 minutes
Price: £40
Each session includes 4 hand edited, high resolution digital images to download and keep with the option of purchasing the full gallery (approximately 20+ images) for an additional £40.

As a pet photographer I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some amazing dogs and families, but these were a special bunch…
The Duddy family have been friends of ours for years, and as is life unfortunately, we’ve been able to photograph their pack in a couple of it’s incarnations so to be asked to do it again means a lot to us.
It’s hard to argue against how striking they are with a beautiful Poodle, a handsome black Lab, and a fabulously charismatic Glen Of Imaal Terrier.
I can’t wait to share more photos of these guys with you all, and be sure to check our stories for some before and after edits of these photos. We photograph almost all dogs on a lead for your reassurance and their safety with it being removed at the editing stage to leave us with beautiful images with nothing distracting from them.

We have a fabulous new location for our pet portrait mini sessions over the spring and summer months…the beautiful Ness Woods just off the A6 outside L’Derry.

Our pet portrait sessions are always relaxed, and fun and we work with your dog’s personality to help show them off to their best in our photos.

As a dog owner whose family has lost two oldies in the last 18 months I know only too well how much photos mean when it’s all you have to remember them. Whether it’s an older pup or a young ‘un our shoots are a celebration of them and their bond with you.

We’ll guide you through the whole time using gentle prompts and play rather than stiff and forced poses. Everyone we photograph comes away saying how easy it felt, so if you’re at all uncomfortable in front of the camera or you’re nervous about how your dog will behave we’ve got your back.

As a location the ancient woodland of the Ness and Ervey Woods is one of the hidden gems in the area and if you haven’t been it’s worth the trip for any reason. We think our oet portrait sessions are the best!

Our mini sessions are only £40 for each 20 minute shoot which we think is insanely good value.
The first available date for these sessions is Sunday 24th of May with more to follow and we’d love to see you all there.

It’s not just dogs on their own we photograph, we love getting owners involved in our shoots.
We understand that not everyone is entirely comfortable in front of the camera, but you’ll never regret having photos taken with your beloved pets.
As hard as it is to imagine life without them all dog owners know that they’re more than likely going to outlive them, so please take the opportunity while you’re able.
We personally lost our two oldies in the last 18 months and the pictures we have of them mean more now than ever.

Dobby the Springer is only a year old, but sat like an old hand and was the perfect big brother.

We’re on the hunt for a model for tonight’s trial shoot in Ness Woods, just outside the city. This 1-hour session is a great opportunity to get a free photoshoot in a stunning new location.
All you need to bring is your pup and a smile! We welcome dogs of all abilities and breeds, as long as you and your furry friend can navigate gentle woodland trails.

Who doesn’t love a bit of Dachshund content now and then!
Over the years we’ve photographed a lot, I can’t say all different sizes and shapes, because, well, they’re all roughly similar 😂 But there’s been all sorts of personalities, temperaments, and every shoot has brought something new.
Small dogs are sometimes harder to photograph purely on the basis of having to get super low to the ground, but the results are worth the effort.
