The Social Landscape of Didcot

The Social Landscape of Didcot Photography by Paul Bodsworth. Some of the images on this page cover subject matter that is perceived to be ugly or depressing.

This is the intention, as Didcot is no different from any other town. This will also mean that the comments people make might sometimes be quite ugly and vulgar too. I have made the decision not to over censor remarks as the true “Social Landscape of Didcot” is its people, and their language is a major part of that. But, if the posts made become one sided or ridiculous, I'll remove them to preserv

e the integrity of the project. 8/03/13 - Time for an update! SLoD is reaching It's first year, the page was started in June 2012. I started photographing Didcot and surrounding area on the last day of March 2012. This means I'd of been doing this for one year on the day the Power station stops creating its plumes of steam and falls quiet... SLoD continues to romanticise the plain, the ugly and unattractive in a quirky and humorous way. Using composition that challenges mainstream photography and viewers alike. The photography and page has become a daily part of its followers routines and has been celebrated by local media. At the end of May (1 Year on) images will be included in an exhibition at the Cornerstone celebrating the end of the power station Era. Thanks to everybody for the continued support and here's to another year!
