Day 2 - Started in the rain at Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail and ended in glorious sunshine at Symonds Yat Rock.

The forest felt like a real treat, starting early, it felt like we were the only ones there. Exploring the sculptures, the reflections, the fungi, the unexpected details and soft light. Some of the group experimented with macro photography whilst others tried a little ICM (Intentional Camera Movement), and in between there were some rather philosophical conversations about life.

Back to the café for lunch before heading to our final stop on the trail, 'Cathedral'. This is the one that always stops people in their tracks and it was the icing on the cake for our visit. The sun had come out and the light was perfect by then. A completely different day.

Then a quick couple of hours at Symonds Yat Rock which is just breathtaking. As you climb to the viewpoint up a gently sloping walkway, nothing quite prepares you for the view. Some time spent capturing some long exposures and sweeping landscapes, before well-earned ice creams in the sunshine.

A long old day but a good 'un.

Final day tomorrow and we're off to Raglan Castle before we head home with full memory cards and happy memories.

Well, day 1 - What a day!

The magical forests of Puzzlewood followed by a fascinating tour 200ft underground at Hopewell Colliery. Definitely earned our mountain goat status today!

So many smiles, great banter and incredible photos captured already. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

It all starts this evening! My group are currently on their way to the Forest of Dean, and I can't wait to welcome them.

I did a little walk round Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail this morning and the light and the beauty of the place was breathtaking. The next few days will be packed with photo opportunities, and I'm looking forward to sharing some really special places with everyone.

Another little round up of recent photo walks, and what a joy they've been.

Last Friday, we explored the wonderful Raveningham Sculpture Trail (ends this weekend and I highly recommend a visit). So many photo opportunities to be found where manmade meets nature - colours, textures, reflections.

And on Tuesday, it was all about Anything but Eye level, encouraging my photo walkers to see Norwich from unfamiliar angles. It was so much fun being their guide through the city, and we even got to go up into the tower at The Church of St Peter Mancroft which was an unexpected treat!

Huge thank you to everyone who has joined me recently. There have been some very poignant moments, some lightbulb moments and moments that have filled me with joy and made me realise again and again why I organise these walks.

Thank you also to the venues we've explored with our cameras. We're so lucky to have such special places on our doorstep.

Well, I didn't see that coming!

I announced three new photo walks for November today, and you lot are wonderfully keen, as two are already sold out and one has one space remaining. Thank you so much!

In a week's time, I'll be heading to the Forest of Dean for my second residential photo walk. Can't believe it's come round so quickly!

My group is in for a treat, as the area is filled with so many beautiful sights. We'll be heading to places like Puzzlewood, Raglan Castle and Hopewell Colliery and I can't wait to be their guide, pointing out photo opportunities, assisting with camera techniques and giving them the opportunity to spend some quality time with their cameras.

I'll hopefully be doing it all again next May, so watch this space if you'd like to join me.

Today's photo walk at Henstead Exotic Garden was all about the light. So beautiful. Especially the shadows that came and went so fleetingly, and the softness of ferns against moss. We were so lucky to have the garden to ourselves to explore every nook and cranny.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined me, I hope you came away with some shots you're proud of. And thank you to Andrew, who welcomes us into his garden every year. It's such a joy.

Ahh, it's that time of year again. Tomorrow, we get to return to one of our old favourites, Henstead Exotic Garden. And this means I can roll out my video again.

For those who've not seen this, it was filmed about eight years ago by Jordan, the talented son of a friend of mine, and I feel like it perfectly sums up the feeling of a photo walk - relaxed, plenty of smiles, nooks and crannies to discover, beautiful light and the most wonderful hidden gem of a venue.

A little bit of catching up to do here.

It's been a busy but wonderful August - thank you to all my photo walkers who have joined me and helped make each walk so fun and relaxed.

This week and last took us to the unique Winstanley Cat Pottery in North Walsham. A quirky mix of pottery and railway memorabilia, years and years of layers of clay, and so many unique photo opportunities. Huge thanks to Nick and Kim for allowing us to roam with our cameras whilst they carried on potting.

And yesterday evening, we explored the beautiful , one of my series of seasonal slow photography sessions. We lucked out with the weather again, arriving after the storm which gave us some very welcome moisture and squelchy ground underfoot. The air felt fresh, the light was beautiful and we spent a wonderful couple of hours slowing down and really noticing small details in nature before gathering for a cuppa as the light faded. Thank you to Anna for giving us this opportunity at the meadow too.
