At the kids’ swimming lesson today 🏊♀️, I overheard two mums talking about how fed up they are with living in the UK, the government, the constant grey skies ☁️, the heaviness of it all. They said they wished they could move somewhere sunnier ☀️, somewhere lighter.
And honestly… part of me understood exactly what they meant.
There are days when I feel it too,
that longing for warmth, sunshine, and an easier pace of life 🌴.
But then I remind myself of the saying: “The grass is greener where you water it.” 💦
I’ve lived in the UK since 2009 🇬🇧. Over the years I’ve learned to adapt to the culture, the rhythm of the seasons 🍂, and the unpredictable weather. It isn’t always easy, but it’s become familiar. It’s become home in many ways.
And yet… if I moved back to the Philippines 🇵🇭, I’m not sure I could truly settle there long-term anymore. Life has shaped me differently.
But at the same time, there’s still this quiet ache… a feeling of not fully belonging here either.
It’s a strange thing to live between worlds 🌍.
Not completely here, not completely there.
Just somewhere in the middle…
I’m somewhere in between.
Still figuring it out.. ☁️🤍
