A proud moment for the Safeguarding Midwifery team at RSCH as we received an award from the Chief Midwifery Officer for England today for our 'You were held' project. Photography for women and babies, separated at birth, to create a forever memory of being held and cherished in the early moments.... no story the same, but all complex, emotive and important. Highlighting a cohort of vulnerable people, hidden in our society. I couldn't be more proud of our achievements over this past year and the hope that we get this compassion project nationwide 📸💕

You were held.... midwives with cameras......published this month in Practicing midwife.... a compassionate project with highlighting the need to provide extra care to support women when separated from their baby at birth. A forever photo for mum, and evidence of being held for baby 💕.... and in the same edition, with her PhD work in education...... we both turned out pretty ok after all, and after 30+ years of NHS and Education 😊
