📸‼️ A personal reminder to my clients
I never thought I’d have to post something like this, but unfortunately I’ve recently discovered that images from a client gallery have been screenshotted and had the watermark removed via AI technology without being purchased. I’m genuinely devastated. There is so much time, money, skill and care behind every photograph I deliver. Watermarked images are proofs... they are there to protect my work until the image is purchased.
There’s also something else I feel strongly about. Please don't use AI editing apps to remove watermarks or alter images. AI can warp faces, hands, clothing and other details without you even realising it. What was originally a genuine,lovely photograph becomes the complete opposite.
If you don't wish to purchase an image, that's absolutely fine. But removing a watermark, altering and using an unpaid image is not. Please understand that this is my business and my livelihood, and I deserve the same respect as any other professional.
Going forward, if I discover that a client has screenshotted, edited and used an unpaid/watermarked image, any future sessions booked with me will be cancelled and any deposits paid will be retained. I may also need to explore other sharing platforms with more protective tools.
I hate having to be this firm, but my work, my time and the memories I create for you deserve to be respected. 🤍
