Here's the next couple of weeks at the club.

Wed 29 Oct 2025 - Travel Tales - North and South
Two very different destinations and presentations this evening. Jean Robson will show the fantastic sights of 'The Arctic in Winter' and Maybeth Jamieson will take you on a trip around Namibia.
Quite a contrast from the freezing depths of an Arctic winter to the searing heat of the Namibian desert.

Wed 5 Nov 2025 7:30pm
Steve Proctor - My Photographic Journey
Steve is a member of two camera clubs, one of which is his local club Ribblesdale and the other is Chorley who are one of the top clubs in the world. He has been behind a camera for most of his life and as a result has amassed a vast array of images, it seems not to matter what it in front of Steve, it will have photogenic qualities. One not to be missed.
Remember that even if you're not currently a paid up member a fiver gets you in.

📸 Snap, Share, Learn – Join Dumfries Camera Club!

Dumfries Camera Club recently wrapped up its winter season with a fantastic annual dinner and trophy presentation at the Eden Bank Hotel. It was a great night with a strong turnout, and it was brilliant to see a wide range of members taking home awards!

But the fun doesn’t stop there.

We meet every Wednesday evening from late August to early May at Gracefield Arts Centre on Edinburgh Road. Our sessions are packed with inspiring talks, hands-on club nights, and photo competitions where you can get feedback to help sharpen your skills—whether you're just starting out or already have a keen eye.

📱 Got a phone? You’ve got a camera.
In today’s world, phone photography is huge—and we’re all for it! You don’t need fancy gear to get involved. With editing apps and a bit of creativity, you can produce stunning images and even enter our competitions (as long as AI isn’t used in the editing). Club members are always happy to share tips and tricks for getting the most out of your phone camera.

🌞 Summer = Photo Adventures
During the summer break, we keep the creativity flowing with informal outings to local events—perfect for building your portfolio and making new friends.

Whether you're into landscapes, portraits, street photography, or just want to learn more, Dumfries Camera Club is the place to be.
