There are some photos that should be posted on their own . When I was thinking about this I wondered why people like certain images ? Maybe because they evoke a memory from a time long ago , possibly just because they are wonderfully composed , surely an interesting subject must be one , how about the photo show a place where you have been and loved , a scene that portrays peace and tranquility and of course maybe just because it is beautiful .

If you have anything to add to the list please feel free because , let's be honest , art is subjective .

This particular image was taken by Donna when we visited Branklyn Gardens in Perth ( well worth a visit if you're in the area ) . A beautifully vibrant red rose with the water droplets glistening on their resting place of the soft petals .

To me this ticks a lot of those boxes I mentioned earlier , I hope it does for you to .

" Hello again , hello . I just called to say hello "

It has been a wee while I know . In fact yesterday was the first sunrise I have been out for in a few weeks and I was treated to a truly nice one , as I hope you will agree .

I didn't have to travel far , just a few miles to a wee road above Glamis . I still had to get out before 3 mind as sunrise right now is just after 4 am so I was a tad bleary eyed all day yesterday .

A smorgasbord of Our photos from Cherry Blossom season this year . Taken from Dollar , Dunfermline and the Meadows ( Edinburgh ) . First time to the Meadows , actually 2nd time as it took 2 visits , the first was just too busy . I have included a photo of just the Meadows with all of the people as it is a truly happy scene . Hundreds if not thousands of people just out having fun , doing their thing . The atmosphere was so uplifting .

Only had time for a short journey before sunrise after work so I popped across the water to the mighty KIngdom and the lovely harbour at Tayport .

Sometimes , most times , in the job I have a bit of cleansing of the soul is required and just a wee reminder that actually the World isn't such a bad place after all . If you can just shut out all the noise now and again we truly have a lot to be thankful for .

P.s I missed my Gorgeous Girl this morning 🥲❤

As I've already posted , I was out all night on Thursday looking for Aurora , stars and a bit of Sunrise . Luckily I ended up with all 3 .
I was just about to go to sleep when I noticed an alert that there was a strong possibility of Aurora and with the night sky all sparkly it was just too good to miss . So I got up , got dressed and sneaked out ( Dona was working in the morning ) .

It was 20 past midnight and here I was in my car with not much of a plan . I think I drove the whole of Angus before I found my spot . Started off heading up Lumley Den , nope , then back to Meigle , nut, up to Alyth , no no , across to Lintrathen Loch nein , and finally to Balindarg .Yes !!!

Now you can't always see the Aurora , here in Scotland , with the naked eye , well certainly not the colours so I normally just stick my camera out the car window ( not when i'm driving obv. ) and take a photo . This tells me if there is any lurking about . And yup I was in luck .

Got out the car , took a few photos to set my composition then clickety click I was away . Once the Aurora had died off i retrieved my new toy form the boot and set it up to capture the Andromeda Galaxy , a swrily twirly galaxy 2.5 million light years away . My new toy is a kinda telescope with a camera built in , you tell it what to photograph , it searches the sky , finds it then you're ready to go . I think it took 150 photos , around 1 1/2 hours so I sat in the car watching youtube .

Once that was done it was time to get the start of sunrise before heading off to Crombie to finish the morning off. It wasn't as nice as I had hoped but it was very peaceful as I hope the photos portray .

Then it was time for home . Hoovering and cleaning before breakfast then off to bed to get no sleep before picking Donna up and eventually heading out to the local theatre for a night with Queen ( which was excellent by the way ) .

And then it was time to catch up on some much needed sleep .

I've been out all night trying to capture some Aurora , more of that later . Whilst I've been sat in the car I set up to photograph the Andromeda Galaxy and an hour and a half later here it is .

Andromeda is the nearest spiraling galaxy to ours , approx 2.5 million light years away .

If at first you don't succeed ...... at least try one more time 😂

Now this is a place , I reckon , that most of you will recognise even though you have never been here . It is one of Our go to places, one of those you end up at when you just cannot come up plan .
Now if you're wondering what the first line is all about , wonder ye not for I am about to tell you .

These photos are from my second attempt , the first , 2 mornings earlier did not go well . I arrived it was cloudy and 1 hour later it was still cloudy . Not to be deterred I headed back 2 mornings later and here are the results .

It is of course Auchmithie .

You are all invited to see Our boring holiday snaps from a couple of weeks ago .

A week spent in Invershin , eating far too much rubbish , recharging Our batteries . Generally having a right good time .

Clear skies tonight , so I ventured out to play with a new toy .
This is my first attempt to venture into space and photograph star clusters and constellations . So this is called Pleiades ( or 7 Sisters ) and is only 444 light years away which would take us ( with current technology ) a little over 7 million years to reach .
I am always in awe and humbled when I get the chance to stand under a star filled sky and hopefully when the opportunity is offered I will get better and post more illuminating and detailed images of the night sky .
