Dunfermline's Hidden Gem 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Welcome to the Glen; it feels like stepping into another world. I remember visiting before we moved here and feeling like it was a good decision! Yesterday, Dunfermline was hit by flash flooding in several places, so I hope there wasn't too much damage to homes! The Glen is definitely one of my favorite places in this little ancient city. 💙

Does anyone know what's happening with the witches hat? I noticed on my last visit its roof was damaged?

Hidden in plain sight on the Fife Coastal Path lies the remains of the old Kirk of Crombie. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Once a working church, it became a private burial vault for the Colvilles of Ochiltree in the early 1600s. Now, it stands as a quiet, atmospheric ruin—some even say it’s a "thin place" guarded by the Faire Chlaidh, or Graveyard Watch. 🐾

I’ve been hunting for this spot for a while, and thanks to my TikTok friends, I finally tracked it down! Join me for a look at this fragile piece of our local history.

Let’s protect these sites—please respect the ruins and leave them exactly as you find them.

Most people walk their dogs in Devilla Forest for the beauty, but they’re walking right over history.

Today, I’m looking past the surface to explore the Keith of Tulliallan mausoleum and the crumbling brick remains of a secret WW2 Admiralty munitions site. From ancient plague graves to the site of a lost village, this forest has layers of history that most overlook. I’m heading back soon to dig into the story of the lost village of Devilla. Hit follow to join the next expedition into hidden Scotland. 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

CORRECTION the ruins are actually an old pump house, I'm going back to find the WW2 ruins soon!

Forgotten history and lovely beach art in West Wemyss. 🗝️ If you're looking for peaceful places to visit in Fife, this coastal village is a must-see. Next time I'll visit the actual town, but for now I just wanted to look at this side of it—the haunting abandoned hotel, the derelict Shoreland House, and the brilliant local pebble mosaics of the swans and the "cliff house" right on the shore! 🦢🐚

Looking for the most beautiful abandoned places in Fife?

Crawford Priory is looking absolutely gorgeous right now in the spring sunshine. This stunning Scottish Gothic ruin is tucked away in the Fife countryside, and seeing nature reclaim these historic walls in the spring light is incredible.

Have you ever visited this hidden gem? Let me know in the comments!

Is this Scotland’s most historic hidden passage? 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Tucked away off Kirkcaldy High Street is Adam Smith’s Close. Originally known as Halkett’s Close back in medieval times, this tight space holds a massive connection to world history.

This is the exact path the father of modern economics walked while writing 'The Wealth of Nations' right here in Fife. Today, an illuminated stone timeline leads you straight down the close to a stunning hidden 18th-century garden and museum.

Discovering one of the best hidden gems in Kirkcaldy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Tucked away behind the Kirkcaldy High Street is the Old Kirk (church), a site with over 800 years of Scottish history. From the 1828 disaster to its life today as an arts venue, this is a must-visit in Fife. Have you ever walked up the Wynd?

‼️A correction it wasn't 2000 people in the church it was actually 500 🙈‼️

Another great day out with my exploring buddy Janet Richards 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
