🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 C-47 Skytrain Placid Lassie flying over Duxford during their trip to Normandy for D-Day 80. The bravery of the paratroopers jumping out of these and the pilots for flying low, in unarmed aircraft over the enemy is incomprehensible! The beginning of June always gets me into a Dakota mood! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

On this day 82 years ago the allied forces began the liberation of Europe on D-Day.
Today in ceremonies across Normandy we remember the sacrifice made by so many to protect freedom.
The battle for the Maisy Battery happened on the 9th of June, and if you are in Normandy, please feel free to attend our ceremony at 11am at our US Rangers monument.
