Apparently National Dachshund Day was deliberately chosen because it coincides with the Summer Solstice today June 21 st- a little Daxie nod to our gorgeous sausages and their infamous lengthy bodies and strong little legs!!

I’ve been so lucky to photograph some gorgeous Daxies over the years, and one thing they all have in common is personality that far exceeds their size!

This month to celebrate finally reopening my studio based between KENT SUSSEX AND SURREY near to East Grinstead, Lingfield, Tunbridge Wells amongst other areas after some serious repair work I have chosen “Pets and their Owners – Fine Art Portraiture – Studio Style” as the subject of my pet photography competition for June.

So what does this really mean to you guys and who can enter?

Think stylised fine art portraits for you and your dogs or cats, created with rich textures, earthy tones and timeless studio styling.

And I didn’t realise I couldn’t add text to video but yes ! the studio is finally back up and running as well.

Patience is the only way I manage my life!! Now into my most favourite month of the year June - for a whole host of reasons !

You know the kind of a day in the UK !Rain, sun, rain, hail, thunder, blue skies, wind and rain, black skies….

And so the day went on !😳

Any other shoot I would probably have postponed as the forecast kept changing and was just getting worse. I like to give my clients a great experience, not a wash out where we have to depart after a couple of ages and try and plan again. But half of this gorgeous family were emigrating the next day so it really was….

NOW OR NEVER

They so wanted to have Bentley ( black Lab) in some together shots with Dad and son before he left as he was getting on ( Bentley that is 🙃) so we decided to risk it and sure enough after a couple of shots it turned into Wizard of Oz type weather and we prepared for home but not quite….

Brollies went up, jumpers on. I was soaked to the bone trying to set up an edge of woodland shot before we all got back in the car. Then, as if the heavens were watching us, it actually did clear and we had a full hour to shoot before everything finally closed in.

Thanks to my clients for smiling through this. We got there in the end and I hope to show you some beautiful images imminently !!
It was definitely all worth it.

If you are waiting on image viewings - thanks for your patience. I’m super super busy with shoots and have a bit of a backlog but am working steadily through in order of our time together.

Preying for some more settled weather soon!
