With the classic Summer flat spell (for us South Coasters) you quickly start to go surf crazy, not the kind where you score some incredible waves with mates and can’t get over the session, but the kind where you’re itching to have a single session, the type of crazy where you see any form of ripple and consider getting in for it or start looking at every board there is out there for those ‘what if’ sessions if they suddenly appear.

That said, it gives you time to reflect on your own surfing, perhaps get fitter and even take a second to appreciate your equipment which helps bring so much stoke to your life. Here’s a few snaps of my Balloon in all her glory as I wait patiently (not very) for our next run of swell to appear.

An absolute quiver killer for me, and a board you can truly surf in everything, and is pure fun to surf.

All around great bloke and an incredible artist. I visited Ollie at the studio last weekend for a well overdue session.

For ages I wanted to bring the camera to the studio and get some shots of the place and the guys who make it what it is, every studio is different with its own unique style and vibe, I love this place and everything about it.
