The defining moments when you catch each others eye across a crowded room or when you just can't stop yourselves from laughing out loud in the quiet bits. These are the significant points in time that you need to preserve, to document. Remember, if you feel happy, contented and relaxed in a photograph you will always attach those feelings to the image when you look back on it. The same goes for the reverse. Thats why I will never ask you to pose awkwardly or put you out of your comfort zone. You will always be in control, euphoric and relaxed. You're not just going to be remembering how you looked on the day, your going to recollect how you felt...

I'm always very relaxed at Weddings and will never push and pull people around. If needed I will calmly direct you and your guests for groups or artistic shots but mainly I will melt into the background and let the events of the day unfold around me. Leaving you to enjoy your wonderful day confident that I will be getting everything and more...

Louise & Tristan’s French Riviera wedding at Hôtel Belles Rives was pure cinema — but the kind you can’t script.

That Antibes light has a way of turning everything soft and golden, like the whole day is being gently spotlighted. From the terrace to the sea, every moment felt effortless, elegant, and completely alive.

And then there’s the setting: Belles Rives — the iconic Jazz Age hotel once home to F. Scott Fitzgerald, and a familiar backdrop for film and TV. If it feels like you’ve seen it before, you probably have… Riviera captured this exact kind of Côte d’Azur glamour, and the hotel has also featured in Paris Can Wait and Hotel Secrets with Richard E. Grant.

London’s National Theatre has officially stolen my heart.

Yesterday we headed up to meet the events team and explore the spaces (and we’re so excited to be invited onto their recommended suppliers list).

Ciara & Andrew at Balcombe Place — Sussex quiet luxury, full hearts.

I asked Ciara how she felt about the photography… and her reply is exactly why I never take the trust you place in me lightly:

“I’d definitely say a little apprehensive — as you just hope that your photographer is going to capture all the moments you want — which you did! Afterwards I’d say we were over the moon and absolutely delighted — the photo with the flower girls made me emotional (they came through just as we were en route to our mini moon!) xx”

That mix of nerves and excitement is so normal. My job is to bring calm, gentle direction when you need it — and then quietly capture the moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

This is how the day started.

Awkward laughs. Stumbling over my words. Looking anywhere but the lens.

I went on a course called ‘Confidence on Camera’ this week with Natalie Webster and I’m sharing the unpolished beginning because I know I’m not the only one who finds it uncomfortable at first.

A reminder (for you and for me):
You don’t become confident then start.
You start… and confidence follows.

Part 2 is coming — the clips from later on, when it started to feel easier.

Engagement shoots on a Saturday morning in Brighton are the absolute best!!!!

Izzy & Hamish were total superstars and up for every thing! A proper warm up before their big wedding next month.

I can’t stress enough how great pre-wedding shoots are to not only get over pre wedding nerves - but also such a perfect way for us to get to know each other, practice a few poses and have that ‘first kiss’ in front of the camera.

Come the wedding day we already know each other as good friends and YOU BOTH already feel comfortable having your photo taken together. It’s perfect!

You don’t even have to be getting married to book in a couples shoot like this. It could also be just a celebration shoot of the two of you!

Bridal prep at The Corinthia always feels like stepping onto a film set — that quiet, glossy calm before everything begins. Lucy and Akbar’s day started exactly like that… until it didn’t.

The bridesmaids, floating down in the lift, absolutely buzzing — and casually sharing the ride with Jeff Goldblum (as you do at The Corinthia)…

Meanwhile, Lucy’s lift had other plans.

A tiny staff lift.
A sudden stop.
And a bride, fully ready, laughing in disbelief, stuck for nearly half an hour and running late to her own ceremony.

Not the timeline we planned.
But honestly? One of those stories you’ll tell forever — and the most Lucy way to start the day: calm, funny, and completely unshaken.

Part one: bridal prep, the glamour, the chaos, and the very best kind of “we’ll laugh about this later”.

Maria & Tom — Brighton to Lewes and back again, in the best way.

The morning began quietly at their Airbnb in Brighton, the kind of calm that makes everything feel even more real.

Then came the stretch limo, a little sparkle, and off to Southover Grange for their ceremony at Lewes Registry Office — intimate, effortless, and full of feeling.

Afterwards: wedding breakfast at The White Hart in Lewes (warm, relaxed, properly celebratory). And because these two do things their way, we jumped on the train back to Brighton for the evening party at Skylark — city lights, good music, and that just-married glow.

A day that felt like them from start to finish.

Documentary wedding photography is the part of your day you can’t recreate.

The in-between moments, captured honestly.

The real laughs. The nerves. The hands squeezing a little tighter.

The chaos, the calm, the glances you didn’t even notice in the moment.

When I say documentary, I mean I’m watching for what’s real — and photographing it as it unfolds, quietly and unobtrusively. No interrupting. No forcing moments. Just honest storytelling, beautifully framed.

But here’s the thing: most couples don’t want only documentary. You also deserve a handful of portraits that feel polished — without feeling posed.

That’s why my approach is a blend:
