I got to take a step back in time this summer in more ways than one!

I was surprised when I realised I had been 6 years since my last visit to Hever Castle (oh how time has flown!) but this bank holiday, I got to back over 1006 years as I had the pleasure of capturing the Caent Viking re-enactors in all their glory!

Seeing them all Stood side by side with so many other re-enactors, from cooking to wool weaving, axe fights to stone slinging, there was some incredible craftsmanship! I would HIGHLY recommend a visit next year to Hever through the ages if you can!

Ahh, it is good to be back!

What a fabulous evening last night at the DCCA Prom! Lovely to see some familiar faces amongst the teaching staff and such a lovely group of year 11's! The studio set-up was once again a hit and despite a brief technical hitch, they were all so patient and polite - A real credit to their school!

Looking through this business page, I was shocked to realise it has been almost two years since I've been able to really pick up the camera.

This has always been my passion. Whenever I had the chance, I would bring my camera to charity events, family and friend get togethers or anywhere else I had the opportunity. This in time led to some paid work and it was a dream come true. I did this whist juggling my main role as an Optometrist Monday to Saturday. Changes due to covid massively altered that role in optics which impacted what little spare time I had for photography. My camera was placed firmly on the back seat when some incredibly difficult personal circumstances had to take priority in the last 9 months.

Life will always look a little different now and whislt travel may be more difficult and the bigger projects I'd had planned have sadly been shelved for the forseeable future, I am really, really excited to welcome some new (and some old familiar) opportunities into my life and I can't wait to share them with you!

I look forward to easing (hopefully gently) back into the life behind the lens and sharing in those beautiful, silly, crazy moments and memories, that I have the honour and privilege of capturing.

For those who have been there, every step of the way through this crazy, crazy journey, I want to say thank you. I am so, so grateful for your love and support. I couldn't have done it without you!

They say you shouldn't work with children or animals but I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this gorgeous German Shepherd yesterday. At 7 Years old, Darby is such a sweet soul who still tries to chase the neighbourhood cats like she's a puppy.

Congratulations to Bonnie and Nick for tying the knot on Saturday! Such a stunning and unique Medieval/fantasy wedding held in some beautiful neolithic and viking buildings! (I believe it was the first legal wedding within the roundhouse!)

It was a gloriously sunny day - perfect for the campfires and story telling and the mead definitely went down a treat!

It was an honour to be part of your special day! Thank you so much for having us!

So, for the better part of two years, it has been pretty crazy! Lots of things keeping us busy and away from our photography - Covid-19 being the big one but also a new home and my partner quitting his job to start univeristy!

However, I am pleased to announce we are back! We have hit the ground running and oh boy have we got a few exciting things to share!

Here is Hever in History! A history through the ages style re-enactment event, with displays of many periods of history - from vikings right up to and including World War II.

We had the pleasure of camping out with the Kings German Artillery and the Buffs as they performed some incredible canon and fire arm displays. We not only heard but very much felt the phenomenal blast waves! They worked with such timing and precision - It was quite something! As you can see though, it unfortunately started to pour with rain as the vikings took the stage.

We therefore then visited (read "sheltered within") the castle and saw the beautiful, historical pieces and craftsmanship on display before touring the gardens.

Finally we had the rare and unique opporinuity to photograph the castle late at night (or early in the morning depending on which you would call 3am, but we hadn't gone to bed yet..!) If you look closely you can even see the start of "star trails".
