A few snippets from Radio 2 in the Park, Stirling 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Two days of music, actual sunshine, a lot of dancing and simply forgetting about everything else for a while was just the tonic I needed.

And the bands… Texas, Deacon Blue, Jack Savoretti, The Script to name a few with a simply AWESOME finale from Simple Minds.

Oh, and I almost got flattened by James Blunt in his dinghy!

There’s something pretty special about seeing people of all ages coming together with that one thing in common - a love of music.

Music really does feed the soul. ❤️

Just an incredible weekend! Who else was there? 🙌

“I didn’t feel ready earlier.”

Newborn photos don’t have to be pre-arranged months in advance. No mother really knows how they are going to be feeling after their baby is born and very possibly you didn’t even know you wanted photos until after the birth - that’s ok. It’s still not too late to get in touch.

As a new mum, your readiness - physically and emotionally - is part of the equation when it comes to deciding on when to do newborn photos. Feeling very tired, uncertain about body confidence, still finding your feet with your baby... these are real things.

There’s no medal for rushing into a photo session before you’re ready. If four weeks feels more manageable than ten days, that’s a valid reason to wait. You will enjoy the experience more when you are ready.

🍂 My Autumn Diary is Open 🍂

If you’ve been meaning to update the family photos, this is your gentle nudge.

I’ll be photographing families in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians this Autumn.

🍁 The light is softer, the colours are incredible.

🍁 You choose the location. There’s no plan or expectations. (Basically, your kids are my lead!)

🍁 Just come as you are and leave the rest to me for photos that feel like you.

Leaves put on their peak performance mid to late October, therefore it’s a limited window.

So, if autumn photos have been on your mind, now is probably a good time to get them in the diary.

So how was your summer?

I feel like this time of year just disappears before you’ve had a chance to catch your breath - one minute school is out, the next you actually know what day of the week it is again as you settle back into a normal term time rhythm.

At the start of the holidays I gave you some summer photo tips to help you actually pick up your phone and take pictures in ways that you perhaps hadn’t thought of before..

I’m curious, did any of it give you some results you were proud of?

Did you try something new, get a shot you’re genuinely happy with, or just feel a bit more confident pointing the camera at your kids without overthinking it?

There's a lot of noise out there about newborn photography windows, ten-day rules, and the idea that if you haven't booked before the birth you've somehow failed at the whole thing. The reality is much gentler than that, and a lot more flexible than most photographers will admit.

You don’t need to perform for beautiful family photographs… unless Freddy mercury is involved 🎤🎸

This newborn session was an ordinary afternoon at home: a newborn in Mum’s arms, a toddler captivated by Queen with his inflatable guitar and microphone, and a much-loved dog weaving through the room. No prompts. No pressure. Just a family feeling comfortable enough to be themselves.

It’s a kind of magic ✨
