✨ my number one advice to marriers, as a freshly post-my-own-wedding, wedding photographer ✨
your wedding day will go by in the blink of an eye. as cliche as it is to say, it’s true!! i got married a week ago so i can very much attest to how valid that really is.
e&l’s wedding was no exception! it seemed as if we went from ceremony to the evening band playing in a matter of minutes.
it was the hottest day in scotland that entire july, but these two would not let the soul crushing heat dampen (quite literally) their beautiful celebration. yes, some things went wrong, as they always do! that’s life! and yes, the timeline was a bit behind. i like to remind my couples that a wedding timeline is more of a guideline and suggestion than anything else 🙈
but we took their closest friends and chosen family to a wee park nearby the venue, and we all had the most fun! free from logistics and agendas, i was able to capture this beautiful couple surrounded by their community, support system, and family. whether it was trotting across the green, or rushing a group hug charge, or the individual photos we got with everyone, this was one of my favourite parts of their day.
🖤 my number one advice to people getting married is to not lose sight of why you’re doing it. it’s YOUR day, to celebrate YOUR love, to place a bookmark in a chapter of your love story and declare in front of family and friends your commitment to one another. customize your day, free from tradition or expectations, in ways that feel genuine to who you are as a couple. we had a pub quiz at our wedding because: WHY NOT!
also, exciting things!!! i’m finally playing around with film! i got some kodak gold for my little 35mm point and shoot but for some reason they came out more like kodak pink 🤪🩷 if anyone has tips or tricks for starting out with film, id love to know what camera to get that’s not the kodak ektar 🙈
