A wedding filled with little moments of love and the joy of being a family 🍓

My first time at Dalduff Barns was for C & D on what can only be described as the hottest day of the summer. Whilst we all cooked like beans in a tin in the big barn, C & D tied the knot. Our cameras overheated and switched off. My brain overheated and required multiple Diet Cokes to reboot. Tennents cans were used to cool off children 🍻

BUT.

We captured hella joy!!! Just look at this pair. You’d never know they were sweating to death and that’s because they were just so happy to be in love and become one big family 💕

I love days like this. Here’s to many, many, many more days spent capturing folks like this 🙏🏻

Grateful to live in a country where same s*x marriage is legal 🏳️‍🌈

May Scotland always be a haven for all kinds of love. It’s far from perfect here, I’ve experienced that, and it took FAR too long to happen but, we have to keep fighting, keep being vocal and keep marrying whoever we love. To walk with this pair down the Royal Mile in the midsts of July madness and have folks cheer in celebration was a joy 🥲

As always, and if this post didn’t make it clear, this is a space for all love. I am an inclusive photographer for anyone who feels marginalised. I may not always get permission to share everything I shoot so you might not see yourself reflected here but be assured I proudly photograph straight folks, LGBTQ+ folks, disabled folks, BIPOC folks, neurodivergent folks, blended family folks and literally any folks at all 💕 please always reach out and ask me any questions you have.

The only folks I won’t photograph are the hateful ones because well…they can do one🖕

Riotous laughter, joyful screams, silly ideas for photos, and a whole lot of fun 🙏🏻

M & E travelled from Canada to get married in a Scottish castle. And my goodness, did they do it in style.   An honour to be a part of this fun, love filled, tear filled day of pure bliss. A lesson in what all weddings should be.

Coats, Paisley on 35mm film and digital for P & H 🎞️

The kindest and sweetest folks I ever did meet and if I’m truly honest, a couple with the most enviable friend group in the world. All couples, all besties.

This is the second wedding of this friend group I’ve captured. 2028 and I’ll be back with them all for wedding number 3 🫶🏻

Coats’ gothic architecture suited this pair to a T. Grateful to have been a part of this day and hopeful to be back at this venue in the future.

This question could bring in a lot of different answers but for me, a good photographer is someone who is…📸

An empath. We feel it all so we can capture it all.

Unique, creative, and has a clear sense of their own art ✨

A good listener and communicator. Taking on your ideas but contributing their own experience to make yours, as a client, even better.

Honest. They’ll let you know when things just won’t work, or correct your posture when it’s crooked, tell you if you’ve got spinach in your teeth.

Great at editing. More than half of photography is in the editing, the colour grading, the fine tuning, the culling, the cleaning up of images 💻

Patient, observant and calm. Lots of the best photographs happen in moments that might go unnoticed. A good photographer, well they’ll notice them and document them.

Assertive and confident in their own voice when needed. Working with people means things don’t always go to plan or work out like they should. A good photographer is confident in finding new solutions and assertive in guiding you to the best outcome.

Know that you’ll find these qualities in me. My past life as a counsellor prepared me well for the human side of my style of photography. I’ll always be honest, kind, observant, patient, and most importantly, I’ll get you photos that capture how it all felt because I’ll be feeling it right along with you 🫶🏻

Capturing how it felt 🤘🏻

D & D at Cottiers and Bloc. Taking it back to where it all began for these two. You could feel the energy between them and how much it meant for them to be back where they first connected saying yes to forever together.

I think these photographs capture that feeling of liberated joy, the tension of a deep tug of nostalgia and memories of how it felt at the beginning, the nerves of what was happening now. Absorbing all the emotions and energy of your story, helps me to tell it exactly as it felt 💕
