A little bit of August 🗓️

I put a video out at the end of July saying August was going to be a bit quiet… turns out, I was wrong! August has been absolutely manic and at times a little overwhelming, but I need to keep reminding myself that I am incredibly lucky that I get to do what I do.

Still haven’t figured out how to say no… but I’m trying to learn. Rest days are just as important as being on shoots, and taking time out to be present with friends and family sometimes needs to be the most important thing!

September, let’s go!

Camera maths, it’s a thing right… RIGHT?! 🥴

I went to the .unitedkingdom Creators Week a little while ago with no intention of buying a camera… so I bought a camera and a lens 😅.

That takes my total to five Sony cameras, and quite a few lenses. Having the best gear isn’t the most important thing, but when it’s your full time job, it definitely helps!

Some recent favourites 📸

Most of these moments are actually captured on my iPhone. I can be really guilty of only creating content with my “professional cameras” and sometimes, that’s stopped me capturing some of the best and most authentic moments. Need to remind myself that you don’t always need the expensive gear to be creative.

Chasing the light 💡

Recently I have been trying to not just focus on the action whilst on shoots. I’ve been trying to use light to tell a story, use shadows to frame a subject.

The one downside? It makes me want to only shoot at golden hour 🤣. Not a luxury I can have.

Cricket, but make it art 🎨

Lords is always unreal. Challenged myself to shoot the day from a bit of a different perspective and in a different style than just shooting the action.

I tried to look for framing, movement, leading lines and emotion. But being a cricket fan, it’s tough not to just watch the game 😅
