⁣⁣Just over two weeks ago, our girl Indi arrived at first light and bird song on the morning of my birthday. Born in the water at home as her little brother slept peacefully, and surrounded by the most supportive group of people, it was truly one of the most surreal and memorable experiences of my life. We’ve been enjoying the newborn bubble, watching the rainy days from bed and soaking in the Summer sunshine when it appears. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣Normally, we would head out for an adventure and swim on the Summer solstice, but this year, we took a few photos at home to remember this time in our garden as it blooms with colour and life, and to take in the sweet feeling of having a daughter join our family. 🥹

One year since this day with Camryn & Seamus // Two gorgeous souls whose relationship blossomed in Scotland, and it came to hold a special place in their hearts. It was an honour to photograph their Summer wedding in timeless Edinburgh, where the cobblestone streets and old buildings echo so many stories of the past as you walk amongst them - and Camryn & Seamus’ day is now another story that the city holds.⁣⁣

For Rithi & Nikhil, this shoot was “an ode to our relationship and to create something meaningful that would truly represent us and the city that brought us together. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh, Lothian bus rides from the university to Princess Street for coffee, cakes and long walks through Edinburgh’s most iconic locations are some really nostalgic moments for us.” It was so lovely spending time with these two, who have such a nostalgic connection to Edinburgh, and capturing all the simple but meaningful things they love to do together.⁣

I’m using this time away from shooting to revisit weddings from over the last year, and this relaxed Autumn wedding at still makes me smile whenever I think back to it. Here are some kind words from Jamie & Fraser..⁣

Summer Weddings // I’m often asked which months of the year the highlands go from muted Winter colours back to green, and June + July are the months I recommend for those wanting to embrace a Summer wedding. Like any day in Scotland, it could be rain or sunshine, but there’s something really special about the wildflowers, vibrant greens, and the feeling of everything in all its beauty after a long Winter. Anniversary day for these two // Tabatha & Ben travelled across the world from Australia to get married in the highlands. From tears during their first look to the sun breaking through the clouds for the very last few minutes of the day, their day was full of emotion and breathtaking backdrops. ⁣

Lynn & Arno’s vision for their day revolved around the mountains - a symbol of their relationship and adventures over the years together. Their first trip together was to Scotland, where they jokingly said they would be back for their wedding one day. 9 years later, that’s what they did! From a warm 18-degree start to the day with their beloved dog Appa, to sleeting rain and snow-capped mountains. Scotland is always full of beautiful, unexpected surprises, which I think is part of what makes getting married here so memorable.⁣

Taking photos in Edinburgh feels like being on a movie set - the cobblestone streets, hidden alleyways, historic buildings, and atmosphere of the city never lose their charm for me. It was the perfect setting for Rebecca & Adam’s romantic city couples shoot. 🤍

Rebecca & Adam’s vision for this shoot was to capture a romantic morning in Edinburgh, exploring the streets and visiting their bucket-list locations. I always love seeing Scotland through the eyes of couples seeing it for the first time. Whilst it never loses its charm for me, it’s a reminder of how incredible it is to live and work in this country and to share its beauty with others.⁣
