What 'makes' a photograph for you?
Is it a moment of time, perfectly caught? Technicality? Emotion? Expression?... a connection that takes you back to something you thought you'd lost?
I often deliberate why I became so drawn to & captivated by photography (apart from the livelihood bit) - why not oil painting or watercolour instead?
Is it the initial honesty of it? The instant gratified levity delivered by that first back of the camera glance? Sharing time or curating memories for another to love?
Bowie fuelled hours slip by unnoticed when editing - wrapping that undeniable honesty in elevated detail for the delight of delivering art to positive reaction...
Or, is it the theivery of light & shadow? Stealing something indescribable from a vast, untouchable energy & translating it into a tactile memory, suspended in print.
