Springburn's winter gardens

Opened in 1900, this magnificent Victorian glasshouse was once the largest of its kind in Scotland, serving as a popular attraction filled with exotic plants, displays and community events. Following severe storm damage in 1983, the structure closed and has remained abandoned ever since, gradually falling into disrepair. After years of campaigning, major funding has now been secured to stabilise and partially restore the building as a "living ruin", with plans for community spaces, heritage activities and an urban garden to bring the site back to life.

Varosha was developed throughout the 1950s and 1960s, becoming Cyprus' most famous tourist destination and one of the most popular holiday resorts in the Mediterranean. At its peak, the district was home to over 45 hotels, around 60 apartment blocks and more than 4,000 homes, attracting celebrities and hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, residents fled the area as fighting approached, leaving the entire town abandoned almost overnight. Sealed off for decades, Varosha became one of the world's most famous ghost towns, although parts of the district have recently begun reopening under ongoing political dispute.

This former telephone exchange was built in 1935 to serve as a major communications hub, routing telephone calls across the city for decades. As advances in digital technology made the exchange outdated, it was vacated during the 1970s and has remained abandoned ever since. Over the years the empty building became a target for vandalism, graffiti and even illegal raves, while numerous redevelopment ideas have failed to materialise, leaving its future uncertain despite its protected listed status.

This striking Victorian office building was constructed in 1891 for a major insurance company before later serving a variety of commercial and office uses over the decades. In more recent years, parts of the building were occupied by offices and a restaurant, but it eventually fell vacant and was left largely unused. Despite its current condition, plans have been proposed to transform the historic building into a boutique hotel, offering hope that the landmark may once again have a future. Was cool to see this old style room almost fully untouched, considering the rest of the building was completely crumbling this was quite surprising to find. The whole property has been abandoned for around 10 years now and is one of the only abandoned properties left on the site of this old hospital. The building is listed and therefore can't be demolished, hopefully it won't burn down like the rest...

One of the many abandoned businesses in Glasgow left to decay.

This ones an old buffet that unfortunately had to permanently shut down due to a devastating fire that occurred at a neighboring building. Was like stepping into a time capsule, strange seeing it all left to rot.
