🇬🇧 Hi, I’m Romina
Here’s a long overdue intro post ✦ since so many new people joined lately!

I’m a photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland... and Trieste, Italy (because apparently one city wasn’t enough to contain me) working across Europe.

I mostly like to photograph people, even better if they’re in love or love what they’re doing! That might be a wedding, a portrait or bo***ir session, or your brand and events. But nothing done in a stiff kind of way: I prefer the calm but fleeting, messy, goosebump-inducing kind of way. My approach is documentary at heart, editorial in eye: gentle direction when you need it, invisible presence when you don’t.

I picked up photography (on film) when I was around 7 years old, and finished a whole roll around the neighbourhood. I was then forbidden from using the family Olympus. But I picked it up again in 2020 and never really looked back. ♡ So yes, I shoot both digital and 120 & 35mm film, because some moments deserve soul and all the grit.

Ode to the first warm days, ahead of the peaks of my busy season
Just a reminder to never stop taking it easy while also striving for more.

I’ve still got some dates available for this year both in Italy and in Scotland, although September is full for weddings, I still got some space for portraits and such!

Dean Village and the autumnal days ✨

It’s such an honour to photograph fellow creatives, so when Marta told me she was FINALLY visiting Edinburgh, I couldn’t resist showing her around, and of course letting her discover what a Sunshine on Stockbridge tastes like!
We took a walk amongst the most beaten paths, and my little secret gems that I reserve for my couples, the ones that make you realise Edinburgh is both small and filled with endless perfect backdrops!

As our days finally get longer and warmer, I can’t deny this day was an absolute dream: golden leaves, cosy walks, and sweet warm treats… that’s all you need to really make a photo session in the city both romantic and comfortable!

Rock n Roll mama and papa at ✨

When my friend got in touch, she told me she wanted to gift a pregnancy session “but not like the regular ones, they’re a bit alternative… so maybe something more like… your style?”
So there you have it, another pregnancy session without a pastel backdrop and fake props! Instead, I got a kind concession from Mondelli Stables, a glorious sunset, and every single decor they filled the place with!
E&S decided to keep it true to themselves, with his bike, their everyday clothes and the most beautiful and round belly 💕
Gifting a session can be a bit tricky, time and schedules can make it hard to arrange the day, and the one-year expiry date can sometimes not be enough! Not to mention that we always want to be sure we’re the “style” someone is looking for! But luckily our friend knew what she was doing here, and the vibes were truly there throughout 💕

An intimate and stylish wedding at Bacchanalia London, on digital and film ❤️

This place was on my wish list for such a long time, but stepping into it while also photographing a gorgeous wedding was above any expectations: from the care of my bride and groom to the attentiveness of the staff at (who did not wait to feed me as the last person in the restaurant), to the amazing interiors and light, and ending the night by cutting the iconic Medusa dessert instead of a regular cake! It was truly one for my books ❤️

“Oh, I didn’t know you did pregnancy shoots” was the sentence I heard over and over when bragging about having done two of my favourite photo sessions ever!
Well… I obviously do! But not necessarily just your in your average-back lit field kinda way… Truth is, when a client trust me fully and allows me to tap in to understand, REALLY understand what would be a fitting vibe, that’s when the good stuff happens ✨
I wasn’t expecting to be surrounded by the fog, that creeped in last minute, covering both the sunset and the moon… but it gave us a further layer of incredible protection and a little bit of magic 🖤

Taken in my favourite place ~ thanks for the trust.

Hey, long time no see!
Hello from you stoic, realist neighbour photographer, I’ve been thinking about doing a proper cutely curated re-introduction for some time, and I promise I will… This is not it!

But it is somehow more important to me, though.

I’m here to check in with you all and let you know that there’s still a real person working on everything by herself behind the scenes: emailing you, editing the photos (with very minor help), updating the website, trying to find the right photos to post on instagram and writing the captions that make sense without throwing words to the ever feeding AI-crap-machine that will romanticise whatever bu****it you desire!
I’m still shooting film on 35mm but without over editing the results so much that makes me feel like I might have as well shot it on digital, and I stand firmly against any type of marketing/photography/branding/graphic courses that have been too clearly and fairly embarrassingly created by artificial intelligence and are sold for whatever amount with the classic disclaimer “that no results are guaranteed”. I beg you, if you’re looking for extra formation courses, go to someone or somewhere trustworthy!

In a world that’s moving towards rapidly coming and going trends, where everything becomes obsolete faster than it reaches the consumer crowds, I’m still standing grounded in my practice, offering my services as honestly and creatively as I can, tailored for each one of my clients, according to their story, their vision and their will! ✨

We’ll have Halloween on Valentine’s day!

T&D had their halloween wedding celebrated with their closest families and friends at Whitekirk Hill, where “til death” felt less like a vow and more like a vibe. ❤️‍🔥
With her stunning black wedding gown, autumnal colours, ghost trends, and the best pizza+wedding party I ever had the pleasure to attend, this day did not disappoint, my work truly felt so welcomed and appreciated!

With the light pouring through the windows, making the old bare brick walls glow, and fresh bare floors giving a modern minimal look, Rouge could move freely through the space and in (literally) her own bubble 🫧
A cinematic twist for this project that I loved photographing, as it’s no secret that Trieste is my favourite place in the whole world.
