"Yes, it is.", she answered, sipping on a latte.

In the spring of 2009 I sat in a wee coffeeshop in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland, looking out over the castle and musing on the future. A beautiful woman, my wife Anna, sat next to me and together we flirted with an idea to start the freshest, funkiest photography company that Scotland has ever seen. "But there are so many photographers in Scotland, so many GOOD ones!", I exclaimed. "M

ight as well get started then." And so GEEBZ Photography was born. Why GEEBZ, I hear you ask? Well, it turns out my name - Gerlof Griesel - is quite the challenge on the average native English tongue. I've been called anything from Geldof (as in Bob) to Gandalf (as in Grey) and everything you can imagine inbetween. We decided to name the company GEEBZ Photography (pronounced "Jeebz") as an alternative to calling it "Gerlof Griesel Photography" - which is boring even if pronounced correctly! Fast forward a few years and GEEBZ has grown from strength to strength, morphing into an entity of its own and though it's been tough I can tell you; every day is an absolute blessing. We meet great people, we work in fantastic locations and eventhough we aim to make the work as fresh and exciting as can be, our overall goal is to keep it HONEST & REAL. I just get all boyish when it comes to capturing an honest moment, natural and unstaged. Try it and see for yourself. Your toes curl up in pure delight and it blows your heart up like a balloon and the more you look at it afterwards, the bigger the balloon gets. To me, photography is an act of Appreciation, and it is my sincere wish that you will enjoy what you discover here. That you will come to Appreciate the work as much as I Appreciate doing it and that you will be as Inspired and excited by what you see as I am by sharing it with you. It's what's on the inside, that shows on the outside, that counts! Now come help yourself to a wee slice of cheese, because when we see each other again, we'll be having none of that!
