Remembrance Sunday.
Lest We Forget
Two minutes held, the world stands still,
A solemn peace upon the hill.
The autumn light is thin and grey,
For all the lives that marched away.
The scarlet badge upon the coat,
A promise whispered, a held note,
Of futures paid and courage vast,
The shadows that the years have cast.
We stand as one, though decades turn,
The lessons that we must relearn.
To honor loss and keep the vow,
Lest we forget, here and now.
