I’m sorry to tell you friend, but the to do list as a business owner is ENDLESS.

So make time for your hobbies.

The problem is not having too much to do. It is never giving your brain a genuine break from it. Rest can sometimes not be enough for some people. You can sit on the sofa and still be mentally running through your client list.

What i find works for me personally is finding something that demands enough focus to crowd everything else out. A hobby that your work brain has no foothold in. For me that is yoga. It is hard to think about invoices when you are trying not to fall on your face.

The research backs this up too. Regular time away from work thinking improves decision making, creativity, and problem solving. The things you actually need to run a business well.

When was the last time you made time for your hobby?

Ps mine is definitely being upside down 😆

A little snippet of one of my louder / slightly unhinged morning routines 😆

You know that “healed so hard you’ve become weird trend?” Here’s my application 👀

Also the dog always wants to sit on my lap in the mornings when I’m doing my little rituals, so cute. Not sure if it’s because of me or the cacao.

Having these mornings really set up up for the day ❤️

A little refresh for .co.creation recently, plus a cheeky little 🤰announcement shot too!

Miriam and I have been working together for a few years now, and she still loves all of her brand shoots and uses them regularly in her marketing.

This time she just wanted a few updated (mostly) faceless shots, and it got me thinking about my returning clients. I totally get that a full brand shoot isn’t always what you need, and the minis don’t always fit the brief either. So please don’t hesitate to reach out, because I do have tailored packages available alongside this gorgeous location for us to work with!

Here’s the thing nobody tells you when you book a brand shoot:

Those photos have to work hard for a LONG time.

Your website, your proposals, your email list, Pinterest - you name it.

Most of us aren’t swapping these out every season. They get embedded into our marketing and just… live there.

So the best investment you can make isn’t in the flashiest shoot. It’s in one where every decision is made with longevity in mind - the location, the time of day, the outfit you wear, the editing style.

That’s why I always say let the light nerds (photographers) guide you on that stuff 😆 it’s genuinely what we think about most.

Yes, it’s great for it to look cool right now.

But will you still love it in 2027?

That shift in thinking changes everything about how we plan a shoot together. And it’s why the clients who come back years later saying “I’m still using those photos” are my absolute favourite messages to receive. 🤍

Is your current brand photography still working for you, or is it starting to feel its age?
