A spring-time charity concert in Exeter Cathedral. Largely on EW-DX wireless to save cables on the floor, including a 4099 hidden in the grand piano.

After testing I’ve adopted .sound Defeedback and today it will make the compere and speeches microphone clearer with less reverb, especially if it’s not used close up.

First gig after the winter break, using the band’s mixer and bringing my speakers. I do this for busy bands who normally self-mix for smaller pub gigs and then upgrade the sound engineering on more prestigious private functions. By using their own mics and mixer, the band get a cheaper rate than if I brought the whole rig.

This is a great video from a school concert I worked on. Always fun and inspiring working on school gigs. I regularly see amazing performances that are as moving as adult performances.

Another remembrance service went without a hitch in Newton Abbot. With a large parade and strong attendance, this event meant a lot to the town. I’m working for the town council who co-ordinate the event with the Royal British Legion. With digital radio mics there’s no chance of crackles or pops which would detract from the proceedings.

The PA is an all- rig with speakers from the Plus and ID series.

PA provided for fireworks at featuring The Revival. on fine form.

and PA mixed on Yamaha DM3 today. mics plus still loving .berlin KM184s as drum overheads.

Today’s job was to take the stress off the conference organisers of handling the mics, which had been the in-house system the year before. I still used the in-house ceiling PA but brought EW-DX radio mics for rock-solid reception, mixed on my trusty SQ-5 with AMM and fed through ID24 and ID14 compact and powerful speakers at the front.

In 4U of rack space there are 8 radio receivers and 4 channels of processing and amplification.

We had constant clarity throughout the room for the MPs and organisation leaders on panels and interviews.
