Still saddened by the news of this lovely tree being completely unnecessarily cut down. One of the most iconic sights in the country.
This is a few years old, taken on the way back from my first trip to Isle of Skye. That was the trip that got me into landscape photography, so this location is personally special to me.

4. Interpretation. Using MidJourney, each prompt gives you four results that you can then explore further by asking for 'more of that please'. These four images are the result of a single word prompt - "insomnia".
AI has learned the meaning of the word and produced these rather interesting abstract interpretations, but of course it has learned them by being fed an internet sized meal of images in the first place. How much of these images were created by a human in the first place?

2. Dartmoor....in Japan. The ease in which AI can produce an image in weird and wonderful ways is still impressing me regularly. Not only does it know what Dartmoor is, it understands the concepts of sunset, a Japanese art style and even, impressively, the concept of rule of thirds. Even more remarkable is its ability to understand emotion, happiness, worried, bored....all of these prompts have an influence on the finished image, creating near infinite possibilities.

1. Dartmoor view.

Yesterday I posted an image of a bluebell forest in the evening light. A nice scene, but of course....it doesn't exist.

Like this photo, it is 100% AI generated. I don't mean using Photoshop, content aware/ magic erase, the image was generated purely by me entering text prompts into an AI, and this is the result.

I've been casually exploring this recently because the results are as outstanding as they are scary, potentially having huge implications for multiple industries and maybe careers too.

There will be some weird and wonderful images coming up as I continue to explore the possibilities and the implications of AI, so forgive the change of pace but I think it's an interesting subject to explore.

Welcome to midjourney!

It was great to get out with the camera again this weekend, this time through the lens of a macro rather than landscapes. This is where I began with photography and it's great to return to this tiny world.
