The mountain hare cull season stopped yesterday and today is a monumental day. From now on, they’re a protected species and a license is needed for any to be killed. Will it stop certain people continuing to kill illegally.. no but it is certainly a very large step in the right direction and those individuals and businesses can now be held accountable.

Today is the very first which just so happens on the first day of meteorological spring! And the picture I'm sharing today is just how id like to find them! Chilled out happy hares!

This amazing historical moment is all thanks to the work of organisations such as and , plus Alison Johnstone MSP, and of course the voices of millions of nature lovers.

These gannets Will be back on their coastal rocks soon! hopiing we can all get out soonish so i can have some form of summer photography!

I havnt been posting on my page a lot lately as the Facebook algorithms means a lot of people dont even see it! im not the best at talking away about myself or anything else on facebook or any social media which really doesnt help matters! Its also getting mildly weird posting (pre covid) for over a year!

But lets do an experiment and just see how much this page is seen for the next few weeks!

Iv been spending some time editing More images from the flakland islands.. probably not good news to people that im only technically just starting day 4... but the good news is its not just penguins this time! ⠀

Here is a cracking close up portrait of a Striated Caracara perched just outside the settlement on carcass Island where they are ready to pounce to see if anyone will feed them!

Editing through some images today whilst multi tasking other projects and a dead arm from a flu jag :D but i quite liked this one and wnted to share! it was taken last year, iv not been back up the grouse moors since the start of covid, depending on restrictions i may head up soon for a look to see whos around!

this was taken in heavy rain first thing in the morning on route to somewhere else! I always try to pass through here on route as you never know what youll see!

Iv had a cheeky few days off this week while the weather has been nice! My windows is running like sludge so uploads are a tad slow!

When the wildlfe gets a tad too close and interested! Taken from the car before moving off to leave him be as he was hinting for some food. Feeding Wild deer is never good for their stomachs, natural behaviour or the safety implications if they do turn. A lot of the "wild deer" in scotland are supplement fed so are more accepting of humans but there are a few locations where iv seen people turning up with 2.5kg bags of carrots ...

Its been a while! sorry! this year has just been a bit of a roller coaster and the weather has stopped any other plans!

Gannets were on the cards with multiple trips cancelled.. now they are shelved till next year due to the weather so its time to try to blow some dust of the camera for myself!

Workshops are slowly returning to normal but i have taken the decision to hold of on groups for the time being!
