I was at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh last Friday – my favourite day out of the year! 🚜

I've been going since I was a child. Growing up next to a farm, I loved helping with lambing, calving, haymaking and potato picking. Add in my love of horses and the outdoors, and it's no surprise that this is a day I look forward to every year.

Now it's become a tradition with my daughter, Georgia. I've been taking her since she was little, and we always go together. It's something we both enjoy and a day I never tire of. 😀

Pamela & Mark | The Vu 💍

So lovely to be back at The Vu in Bathgate, such a fantastic Central Scotland venue for weddings and special events.

Mark and Pamela's story started back in 2004, when they met in a pub. Pamela mentioned to Mark's cousin Katrina that she thought he was "alright looking"… and that was all the encouragement Katrina needed to step in and get his number.

A first date was arranged, Mark didn't show up but thankfully, Pamela gave him a second chance, and they finally met properly on New Year's Day. On one of their very first dates, they arrived to discover they'd accidentally coordinated their outfits, both in ripped jeans and pink T-shirts. Clearly, they were meant to be. 💕

Mark proposed on Christmas Day 2005, hiding the ring inside an empty GHD straighteners box borrowed from his sister. Pamela was very excited about the prospect of new hair tools… until she discovered there weren't any!

Pamela and Mark held their wedding within The Water Lily, nestled on an island with spectacular views across the hills. Wishing this lovely couple a lifetime of happiness together. ❤️

Abbie & Ivan | Harburn Barn.

A wonderful day celebrating Abbie and Ivan on the Harburn Estate in West Calder.

Ivan is originally from Bulgaria, and it was lovely to have so many of his family and friends there to celebrate alongside them.

The handfasting fabrics (pictured) were chosen to represent both Scotland and Bulgaria, combining Scottish tartan with the colours of the Bulgarian flag. It was such a thoughtful and meaningful touch, reflecting the joining of two cultures as well as two lives.

The couple meet at the University of Aberdeen's Pool Society when Abbie tagged along to keep a nervous friend company. They were late, shoved to the last table, and paired with a guy named "Evan". After much searching on Facebook for "Evan", Abbie finally connected with the right Ivan and the rest is history.

In November 2023. Ivan had secretly booked Neidpath Castle near Peebles on Airbnb, a 13th century castle with 11-foot thick walls, two floors of museums… and a mannequin in a mid-century dress right next to the bed!

Ivan thought he had booked a room at the castle but on arrival found out that they had the whole castle to themselves when they were handed the castle keys. The couple got engaged on the castle's rooftop balcony under the night sky.🏰

Kelsea & Euan | The Den at Culross - Weddings

What a fantastic day in Culross for the wedding ceremony of Kelsea and Euan, surrounded by nature on a farm with all the rustic charm you could hope for.

The couple got together at High School, Kelsea had her eye on Euan from first year but was too shy to say a word. It took a PSE class, a chance pairing, and an assignment about planning a future together to finally bring them closer. 🥰

After six and a half years together, Euan secretly booked a luxury hot tub cottage in Glencoe for Kelsea's birthday. The only snag? A very tense argument in Tesco on the way there, while Euan clutched the ring in his pocket the entire time. A walk in Glencoe later, Kelsea had absolutely no idea what was coming! 💍

Since then, they've bought their first home together, travelled the world, and in January 2024 welcomed the happiest, cheekiest, most stubborn wee boy, Hunter (photographed with social media permission given).

Congratulations, Kelsea and Euan! Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter and avoiding Tesco together.

Claire & Kenneth | Venachar Lochside Weddings

Claire and Kenneth both studied at Strathclyde University, but never crossed paths. It took a dating app in October 2017 to finally bring them together. Their first date was an evening coffee in Glasgow that went so well, they talked until the café closed and moved to a bar to continue their date.

Kenneth noticed Claire's eyes. Claire noticed Kenneth's smile, right up until he started (badly) playing the piano. For the record, Claire's the pianist in this relationship!

After adventures in Croatia, Montenegro, Malaysia, Japan and the Caribbean, they found their forever home in the Ayrshire countryside and gained an extra family member when Claire's childhood dog Jack moved in.

They got engaged on the 4th of May 2025 at the Japanese Garden at Cowden, one of their favourite places in Scotland. Kenneth waited patiently for a quiet moment by the pond for other visitors to clear the area. When the moment finally came, he got down on one knee and Claire said yes! 💍

Claire and Kenneth, thank you for sharing your big day with me. Congratulations again!

Alison and Nicol got married at the beautiful Dunkeld House Hotel, set along the River Tay in the heart of Perthshire’s scenic countryside.✨

It was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple with the estate's gardens and trees in full bloom, and the wedding ceremony took place in the Drawing Room with colourful floral blooms lining the aisles.

The big day was made even more memorable with the groom's step-brother Murray playing the bagpipes.

Lesley & Ben (plus dog Winston, the ring bearer) | Bachilton Barn

Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. Lesley and Ben's began when a tall gentleman with a touch of grey walked into the shooting lodge at Gleneagles, introduced himself as the new gillie at Kinkell and completely derailed Lesley's day.

A "show round" of the beat turned into a two-mile walk in wellies, a tour of a wonderfully nostalgic 1970s fishing hut, and somewhere along the way, a first kiss. Kinkell had cast its spell.

When it came to the proposal, Ben kept it perfectly simple. A rare day off, a barbecue by the river, Winston the dog and their favourite place in the world. As Lesley sat back enjoying the sunshine, Ben knelt down - champagne in hand and Nana Thomson's engagement ring and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. 💍

Lesley and Ben, thank you for letting me be part of your day. Here's to a lifetime of riverside walks, quiet moments and coming home to each other. 🥂

Nicole & Aoron | Cornhill Castle Biggar, in their gorgeous new pavilion. 💍

What a privilege to celebrate Nicole and Aoron's wedding day, for a couple whose love story is as adventurous as they are!

It started with a Tinder match, a trip to Dundee, and a man who showed up in a full North Face tracksuit with four bottles of Corona. Nicole questioned her life choices. Aoron was just glad he hadn't been catfished.

Lockdown turned their early dates into outdoor adventures , exploring Scottish castles and countryside, drones in hand, falling for the Scottish Isles, and making it official on the Isle of Harris in August 2020.

On a trip to the British Virgin Islands, Aoron's original engagement plan was derailed by severe sunburn. With one day left before flying home, he took Nicole to The Baths on Virgin Gorda, a stunning series of caves and pools, and got down on one knee inside a cave.

Nicole and Aoron, thank you for letting me be part of your day. Here's to a lifetime of adventures, islands and getting slightly out of your depth together! 💗

Ruby & Fraser | The Vu, Bathgate 💒

It was such a privilege to be part of Ruby and Fraser's wedding day 🥂

The couple's story started at RBS in 2019, when Fraser joined a department where Ruby's best friend Steph worked. One work night out, a question about single friends, and the rest is history!

Their first date was at Nando's in April 2019 and they wasted no time showing off their shared sense of humour, pranking poor Steph with contradicting texts about how the date was going! 😂

To celebrate six years together, Fraser booked a hot tub lodge in St Andrews, a place that already held a special place in their hearts as the destination of their very first road trip together. It felt like the perfect setting for the next chapter and this is where Ruby said yes!

Congratulations Ruby and Fraser, thank you for letting me be part of your day. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together. ❤️
