I’m so aware that we are now in the deep dark depths of November. The winter has well and truly taken hold this week with stormy skies and an abundance of rain. The weather may be dreary but my work is still giving summer.

It’s been a very busy time for my little business and I’ve been squirrelling away in the background capturing lots of wonderful weddings and lifestyle shoots. I have so much to share and have been so lucky to work with some gorgeous small businesses along the way.

Bonnie got in touch with me a few months back and asked if I would create some imagery for her jewellery collection. I fell in love with her immediately. Her passion for her art is inspiring. I love the delicate pieces, all inspired by nature. It was so fun pulling images together to build a story for the shoot.

We headed to Bonnie’s parents land, stripped it back and used what resources we had available. Incorporating foraged components to fit with the collection and all the textures of the hedgerows and grasses.

Here are a few of my favourite shots ✨

To me being a photographer isn’t just about taking photos. It’s about building connections. Telling stories from all seasons of your life. Knowing that what you create will evoke so many different emotions. Laughter. Joy. Love. Excitement. Nostalgia.

I’ve seen this beautiful blooming woman through business branding, lifestyle work, her wedding and now maternity. An honour that is never lost on me. Being given a window into your biggest and most personal moments. Feeling familial. That’s what it’s all about ✨

I’ve really been enjoying the slower pace in amongst the chaos that the past few months have gifted me. I feel like it’s either 100 miles per hour or at a stand still. It’s meant that I’ve had some quality time with my babies and I’m very aware that my littlest will be headed to school in September.

Every day I learn something new about them. They teach me so many lessons and keep my feet firmly on the ground. You think you’ve got it all together one minute and then the next you’re digging a hole in the park to bury the biggest poo your child has ever produced and feeling grateful that your husband picked up kitchen roll in town on the way.

Motherhood connects so many of us. We have a deep understanding. An appreciation. A shared solidarity. A selflessness. We don’t always stop to acknowledge how resilient and amazing we are. How relentless and thankless our job is. Slowing down and taking a moment to document the changing seasons of our lives is so important.

This is your reminder to document these days ✨

I’ve known and photographed the Miles family for a few years now and what’s always struck me with them is how grateful they are for even the littlest things. A life built on small joys not possessions. A household full of love. They seek simplicity. Always so welcoming and so damn cool too! As they head off for a new life back in the US, this is a little black and white ode to them as I didn’t share nearly enough from our last shoot which seems so long ago now.

A wonderful collaboration with my photography pal and daily voicenote listener ✨

Just a mum and son. The simplicity of touch. Moments amongst the madness. Woven together hands entwined. Daisies and dandelions.

Photography is seeing those tender moments and making art from the everyday. Something I will never take for granted.

I still have some availability from Jan-April with my birthday offer. So if you’d like to save £100 off my lifestyle session fees get in touch ✨

This session felt very reminiscent of ‘The Good Life’ once city dwellers now living in the most idyllic cottage surrounded by beautiful flowers and home grown fruit and veg. When we booked in the session they were just a family of four but we rescheduled when another gorgeous bundle arrived.

Nothing says chaos like two under five’s and a newborn but we embraced the wild and treated it like any other day with a walk down the lane, all the animal figures and lots of newborn snuggles.

In home sessions are perfect this time of year when the weather is a little more unpredictable. You get to light a candle, pop your family favourite tunes on, get cosy and enjoy the simplicity of your life. Whether it’s dancing in the kitchen, or sitting by the fire and drinking hot chocolates. However your happy looks, let’s tell your story ✨

We braved the cold September waters for this gorgeous maternity shoot. There is something so grounding about watching the gentle wave of salty water washing over bare skin. The vulnerability. The freedom. A new life flourishing inside. The gentle touch of your first born reaching up to greet your growing bump. Life altering. Heart bursting.

All this rain calls for a little bit of September sun. Whilst I’ll happily embrace the rain, that hazy autumn light is some of my favourite. I’m so ready for cosy season. That feeling of being out in the cold and walking into a warm house filled with the smell of lit candles. This is the time of year to start taking things a little slower. Finally I get to wear all the layers and eat all the comfort food. I mean if the supermarkets are selling Christmas already I may as well pretend summer didn’t just end.

This gorgeous family will be relocating to Cornwall next year and this session signifies a new adventure they’re embarking on. How special is it that I get to document that?
