What an amazing haul from Alton Market today! 🌧️🛍️

The wet weather can’t make it easy for these hardworking stallholders, so it was great to see so many of them still out there. Mrs M is a huge fan of the flower stall and came home with some beautiful peonies reduced to just £2 a bunch, along with a huge box of fresh fruit and veg for only £5. It seems she timed her visit perfectly as the traders were starting to think about packing up for the day!

Now the challenge is to see what delicious meals and creations it all turns into. 🍓🥕🌸

It’s always good to support local, independent businesses and the people who work so hard to keep our markets thriving. If you’re nearby, Alton Market is well worth a visit.

Mr M had to work, so Mrs M snuck off to try out the newly opened Mad Swan Hotel, which many locals will remember as Blacknest.

The décor is vibrant, stylish and welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere from the moment you walk in. What was once the banquet room has been transformed into a relaxed space where you can enjoy pizza and even have a go on the shuffleboard in the games room.

The main restaurant, The Potting Shed, certainly impressed. The ladies loved the clearly seasonal menu, and every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

Of course, no visit would be complete without dessert, and the chocolate sharing board was the perfect way to finish. Safe to say it was a huge hit… not a single chocolate made it home for the workers! 🍫😂

A wonderful evening of great food, lovely company and a chance to see how this local favourite has been transformed.

What a fantastic night in Wi******er! ✨🕯️

A candlelit evening with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the breathtaking Wi******er Cathedral was the perfect way to spend the evening. The Pop Goes Classic performance was brilliant, showing the orchestra’s incredible range and talent while keeping the audience entertained from start to finish.

Beautiful music, an amazing venue, and a truly magical atmosphere. One to remember! 🎻🎶❤️

Keeping the girls cool and comfortable in this heat has definitely been a challenge lately ☀️🐾

But one lovely upside is that we’ve been spending our evenings outdoors instead of glued to the TV, making the most of the beautiful local spaces around us.

Bon especially enjoyed a paddle at Elstead Moat near Thursley — just the right distance for the old girl to comfortably wander around and cool off 💦❤️

Yesterday we visited Waverley Abbey. No paddling spots this time, but we had the whole place almost to ourselves. We spent a peaceful evening watching the heron catch their tea while the ducks and geese drifted along the river 🪶🌿

Sometimes the simplest evenings turn out to be the best ones.

👏🤠 Well done to everyone who organised such a fantastic Countryfest Day at Passfield Social Club🌧️ Even the rain did not put people off having fun — from trying out line dancing skills 💃🕺 to all the great entertainment for the children, there was something for everyone.

So much hard work goes on behind the scenes from the committee and volunteers to make these events happen, and it really is appreciated. Thank you all for another brilliant day!

We are already looking forward to the tug-of-war next 💪

You do not always need to be a member to come along to these fantastic events, but one of the best things about being a member is hearing about what’s coming up before everyone else 👀— plus it’s a great way to meet more people in the community 😊

Have our Blue Tit’s made a b**b???

After 4 years of waiting… we finally have residents in our Tit box! 🐦💙

A pair of Blue T**s have moved into the bird box we bought from the The Sculpture Park near Godalming, Surrey, and we couldn’t be more excited!!!

Now the big question is… how many tiny Blue T**s will eventually appear? 🥹 We can’t wait to find out and will definitely be keeping a close eye on the box over the next few weeks!

Today we dodged the showers and headed to Garden for a wander around their incredible sculpture trail featuring more than 80 amazing pieces from the Surrey Sculpture Society 🎨🌿

The sculptures looked even more magical surrounded by the spectacular spring display of vibrant rhododendrons and azaleas bursting with colour. Add in a peaceful woodland walk with the dogs, and it made for the perfect day out in this hidden gem tucked between Godalming and Petworth 🐾🌸

To top it all off, we finished with delicious soup and hot chocolate in the café — the perfect cosy treat after our walk ☕✨
