What a lovely afternoon spent at the annual The Bentley Fete & Flower Show! 🌸☀️

The produce on display was incredible, but in Mr M’s opinion, the explosion of colour in the flower show was simply tremendous. 🌺🌼 We even spotted a couple of familiar names among the prize winners!

Mrs M Senior also cast her experienced eye over the exhibits, and we’re hoping we can persuade her to enter some of her outstanding produce and beautiful flowers in a future show. We think she’d give the judges something to think about!

Something for everyone from Mrs’s M favourite the produce and flowers to a mixture of cars on show and even races. It was great catching up with so many locals, including Broody and his band, who helped make the event extra special with their fantastic music.

A huge well done to all the organisers, volunteers and everyone who took part in making it such a brilliant community event. Already looking forward to next year!

Mrs M spotted a new place for breakfast… fortunately she didn’t buy a new car at the same time – that would have been slightly over budget! 😄🚗

Autobarn Wi******er opened last year and is a fantastic place to admire some amazing cars while enjoying a delicious meal. The 1960s-themed décor is beautifully done and really adds to the experience.

They also host evening events, so there’s more to enjoy than just breakfast. If you’re after something quick, there’s a van outside serving tasty bacon and sausage butties.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Wi******er area!

WOW!!! 🤩🌸🥕

What an incredible day at the 2026 Rowledge Produce and Flower Show!

We are SO proud of Mrs M, who had an absolutely fantastic day, taking home 🏆 Best in Show for her stunning produce display! As if that wasn't enough, she also won 🥇 1st Prize and Runner-Up Best in Show for her beautiful floral display and 🥉 3rd Prize for her herb display. What an amazing achievement – we couldn't be prouder! 🎉👏

A huge well done to everyone who entered the show. The standard was incredible! Special congratulations to Jan Clark, who deservedly won the Best Combined Show Score for all of her outstanding produce including best Marmalade, Rose and a runner up for her cake . 🌼🥒🍅

You were all amazing and should be so proud of yourselves!

A massive thank you to the whole committee, especially Mark Westcott, for organising such a brilliant event. It was a wonderful day celebrating the best of our community's talent, hard work and gardening skills.

What an amazing day at the King’s Gallery in London, visiting the wonderful exhibition celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s iconic fashion.

Seeing her beautiful wedding dress and magnificent Coronation dress up close was truly unforgettable. The intricate embroidery, exquisite craftsmanship, and incredible attention to detail were simply breathtaking. It’s a real testament to the remarkable skill and dedication of the people who created these historic garments.

A fascinating exhibition that I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in royal history, fashion, or British heritage. 👑✨🇬🇧

I was delighted to drop a few more pennies into Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice this week. We are now just £35 short of donating £2,000 so far this year!

I timed the donation handover perfectly and was lucky enough to meet one of the fundraising team, who kindly showed me around the new hospice building. What an amazing place! I couldn’t believe how much has changed. Every room looks out onto beautiful gardens, which are slowly taking shape and will provide such a peaceful environment for patients and their families.

This week’s flowers available are:
💜 Lavender
💙 Delphiniums
💜 Salvias (nothing seems to kill them!)
🌸 Alstroemeria – keep cutting them and they’ll reward you with flowers indoors for weeks.

🌿 A Perfect Escape to Grantchester 🌿

As fans of Grantchester, we were delighted to discover that you can walk through the beautiful Grantchester Meadows from Cambridge straight into the picturesque village itself.

The church featured in the programme is every bit as charming in real life, and the churchyard was absolutely stunning, filled with patches of wildflowers, poppies, and cornflowers. Mrs M was particularly impressed by the beautiful flower arrangements inside the church.

After exploring the village, we enjoyed a delicious meal in one of the cosy village pubs, giving us the energy needed for the walk back to a very busy Cambridge. A wonderful way to spend a weekend and a lovely contrast between the peaceful countryside and the bustling city.

Time for a new Too Good To Go venue today! 🎉

Collected some absolutely amazing treats for tea from Haskins Garden Centre and I’m seriously impressed. Plenty of delicious goodies rescued from going to waste and perfect for an afternoon indulgence. 🍰🥐🧁

The diet starts tomorrow… today is all about enjoying these fantastic treats! 😋

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a surprise box and love a bargain while helping reduce food waste. ♻️💚
