Unpopular opinion… your child does NOT need to look at the camera and say “cheese”. 👀

In fact, I’d much rather capture them doing what they naturally do.

Bad mood? That’s ok.
Let’s play with them, have a cuddle, bring snacks, take a little break — whatever they need. 🤍

Because the beauty is in the nature of being a child. The messy, silly, emotional, wild and wonderful bits.

Years from now, when you look back at these photographs, I want you to see your child’s personality.

Not remember how stressful it was trying to get them to sit still, look nice and smile for that one “perfect” photo hanging on the wall.

Give me the real moments. The ones that make you smile because they are so them. 🤍🌊

Why are evening shoots on the beach really my favourite?

Although the light is one of my favourite things about these photos, that’s really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why I love these sessions so much.

You see the sunset. The beautiful colours. The stillness of a moment frozen in time.

But I see the sandy toes. The wild laughter. The genuine fun between people who love each other so unconditionally.

These are the sessions where it all comes out for a family.

I see the stress of the day, the week, the month, slowly pour from the parents’ shoulders. I see the spark that lights up in the children’s eyes as they chase each other through the puddles left behind by the ocean.

There’s no posing here.

These sessions are simply a space for families to connect, play and make memories together. A place where children feel relaxed and free to be exactly who they are — wind in their hair, sand between their toes and not a care in the world.

And parents can let them run wild without worrying about the usual judgement that comes with having children “behave” in public.

Children get to be children.

And that’s where the magic truly happens.

I love my weddings, but nothing will ever beat what unfolds during these evening beach sessions.

Remincing on the beautiful families on our castle farm mini sessions, how beautifully happy are they all?

6 families and only 15 minutes each, but a lifetime memory made for every single one. You can almost hear the laughter through each photo 💜
