The more times I go to London, the more my camera rewards me.

These images I shot as JPEGs.

The Fuji camera allows me to shoot in black-and-white with a range of filters added - as if I was shooting with black-and-white film. In the case of these images, I shot with a red filter which renders blue very dark, helping to create high contrast tones.

For many photographers, shooting in JPEG would be sacrilege. For me, I prefer the simplicity.

I enhance the tonal range using Photoshop when I get back to my office, other than that, there is very little editing.

Well today marks the end of an era…

I'm photographing my very last Wedding.

It is especially meaningful, as it's one of my ex-Masterclass students, Luke Delahunty.

An absolute honour and privilege.

New Blog Post: Black-and-White vs Colour Photography

The debate is as old as photography itself—should you shoot in black and white or colour? Both styles have their champions, their strengths, and their unique ability to tell a story. In my latest blog post, I take a deep dive into this timeless discussion.

From the mood and drama of monochrome to the vibrancy and energy of colour, I explore how each approach can enhance your photography. Whether you’re drawn to the timeless elegance of black-and-white or the emotional resonance of colour, this post will give you plenty to think about—and inspire your next creative project.

I also share some tips and tricks, including how technology has transformed the way we shoot and edit, from colour grading to using tools like LUTs to evoke cinematic moods in your photos. There’s something here for every photographer, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.

Check out the blog now and join the conversation: https://phototeacher.blog/2025/01/16/black-white-vs-colour-photography/

So, what’s your take? Are you team black-and-white, team colour, or do you embrace both?

Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts! 👇📸✨

I’ve not posted any images on this page for sometime, my apologies.

I’ve been concentrating my efforts in the Hampshire Photography Network (Facebook group) and now that numbers have just gone past 1000, I can relax a little.

Most people don’t know of my background as a video cameraman. I had some wonderful experiences behind cameras like these. I was nominated as Director of Photography at a Hollywood film festival and I even got invited to an event at Buckingham Palace as a result of my work with the Met Police and youth organisations.

Good times.
