Here I am Surrounded by Love & Crimson Clover.

Charles Dickens, Great Expectations (1861)
“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.”

I know it’s April! But I still love this quote. Spring is so changeable. One minute there’s moody storm clouds, the next it’s brilliant sunshine!

“Fog everywhere. Fog up the river, where it flows among green aits and meadows; fog down the river, where it rolls defiled among the tiers of shipping and the waterside pollutions of a great (and dirty) city. Fog on the Essex marshes, fog on the Kentish heights. Fog creeping into the cabooses of collier-brigs; fog lying out on the yards and hovering in the rigging of great ships; fog drooping on the gunwales of barges and small boats. Fog in the eyes and throats of ancient Greenwich pensioners, wheezing by the firesides of their wards; fog in the stem and bowl of the afternoon pipe of the wrathful skipper, down in his close cabin; fog cruelly pinching the toes and fingers of his shivering little ’prentice boy on deck. Chance people on the bridges peeping over the parapets into a nether sky of fog, with fog all round them, as if they were up in a balloon and hanging in the misty clouds.”

Chapter 1 of Charles Dickens’ 1853 novel, Bleak House

What an incredible evening capturing Folkestone’s Christmas Lights Switch-On!
The town was alive with colour, music and community spirit — and being trusted to document it was a real honour.

Events like this are a perfect reminder of why I love what I do. From the energy on stage to the magical moments in the crowd, every frame tells a story. Folkestone Town Council put on a fantastic event, and I’m excited to share a few of my highlight shots below.

If your organisation, brand or event team is looking for professional photography that captures atmosphere, emotion and storytelling, I’d love to work with you.
Whether it’s a town event, corporate launch, festival, performance, or community celebration — I bring a documentary style that’s vibrant, real, and full of life.

Feel free to reach out for 2025 / 2026 event bookings.
Let’s create something amazing for your next event! 📸✨

Diving deep into ‘Temporal Vertigo’ this afternoon, because I’m a curious soul. I just might read Segal, L. (2014). “Temporal Vertigo: The Paradoxes of Ageing.”

A short definition of
Temporal vertigo ~
captures the paradoxical multiplicity of temporal experiences: time feels both elongated and fleeting, nostalgic and foreboding, often intensified by aging.

Thoughts…In an era of AI-mediated futures, does algorithmic curation amplify this disorientation? I think, yes.

More thoughts…Can Gratitude alleviate the ‘dizziness’ experienced by Temporal Vertigo? I think, yes.
