As many of you know, alongside photography I’ve been studying animal communication.

I’m still very much a student, learning and practising every day, and one of the best ways to develop is through real-life experience.

Because of that, I’m looking for a few volunteers for free practice readings.

In return, I simply ask for honest feedback afterwards.

I’m particularly interested in connecting with:

Most people know me as the face behind Mini Moo Studios, photographing dogs, horses and families across Aberdeenshire.

But during the week, I also work as an Assistant Registrar.

When I tell people what I do, they usually say, “Oh, so you register births, marriages and deaths?”

And yes, that’s part of it.

But the role is so much more varied than most people realise. Every day is different, and I get to meet people from all walks of life during some of the most important moments they’ll ever experience.

It’s a job I genuinely enjoy because, just like photography, it’s all about people and their stories.

I think that’s probably why I love photography so much too.

Whether I’m photographing a horse galloping along the beach, a dog enjoying an adventure, or a family making memories together, I’m always drawn to the stories behind the images.

So now I’m curious…

Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart forever 🖤

There’s something incredibly special about photographing the dogs we love most, because one day the photographs become part of the memories we hold onto.

The grey muzzles.
The sleepy eyes.
The little habits we think we’ll never forget.

Time moves so quickly with dogs. Far too quickly.

If your dog is getting older, slowing down, or simply means the absolute world to you, please don’t wait for the “perfect time” to have photographs taken.

The muddy paws, wonky sits, and silly expressions are all part of their story ✨

For anyone missing a dog at Rainbow Bridge tonight, I hope their memory finds you gently today 🌈🐾

📸 DOG PHOTOGRAPHY TIP 📸

Want better photos of your dog on your phone?

Stop standing over them.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is photographing dogs from human height, looking down at them. It often makes dogs look smaller and loses connection in the image.

Instead:
🐾 Get down to their eye level
🐾 Focus on the eyes
🐾 Keep the background simple
🐾 Use treats or funny noises to get their attention

The difference is HUGE ✨

Most of my favourite dog portraits are taken while I’m sat in mud, lying on the floor, or crouched awkwardly trying to make strange noises 😂

Beautiful dog photos aren’t about having the most expensive camera. They’re about connection, light, and perspective 🖤

This is exactly the kind of thing I’ll be teaching inside my upcoming phone photography course for dog lovers 🐶

One day, the riding boots will be too small.
The pony will be retired, sold, or simply gone.
And suddenly the photos become priceless 🖤

Children grow so quickly, and their ponies somehow grow older even faster. These little partnerships shape childhoods in the most beautiful way.

Some children are so young during their first pony years that photographs become the memories they hold onto later in life.

That’s why I love capturing these moments…whether it’s muddy wellies and everyday cuddles, or something a little more magical with flowing gowns and storybook style portraits ✨

And it’s not just for little girls either. Pony bonds run just as deep for boys too; adventurous, wild-hearted, pony-mad children deserve these memories captured just as much 🐴

These photographs are for the future versions of them.
The ones who will look back one day and say:

“That pony was my whole world.”

Using the natural shadows of barns (or black backdrop fabric where needed), I create beautiful fine art style portraits that completely focus on your horse’s expression and details.

🐴 £39 per horse
🐴 10–20 minute session
🐴 3 digital images included
🐴 Minimum of 2 horses per booking location

This beach session was all about confidence, freedom and capturing the connection between horse and rider exactly as it felt in that moment.

Honestly one of my favourite sessions I’ve ever filmed behind the scenes 🌊🐴
