The club season resumed last night with President Rhona Cameron welcoming an appreciative audience to the Courtroom. This is our 50th Anniversary season and Rhona recounted the beginnings of the club when her father Jack was first President and its progress to present day paying tribute to those involved over the last half century.
Rhona then welcomed Alex Wright founder of Flying Mirrors accompanied by his wife Sara to the club. Alex started with an introduction to the creation of Flying Mirrors and the journey to the present time. He saw his camera as a VIP passport that opened doors and let him enter places that people do not normally have access. His view was that the camera as a VIP allowed Flying Mirrors to achieve:
V - Visibility
I - Interaction
P - Participation

He (along with Sara) a fascinating insight into not only Flying Mirrors as an entity but their own development as photographers and as filmmakers including examples of their work. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the evening and Alex and Sara and enjoyed meeting one of the stars of a film they had produced - Biritta Schmitz. At the conclusion of the evening the appreciative audience accorded Flying Mirrors a heartfelt vote of thanks.

Next week members will view images taken during summer outings.

Forres Camera Club starts its 50th anniversary season with a talk by Flying Mirrors. We are looking forward to an interesting evening as we start another year viewing some superb photographs and learning more about photography along with expanding our skills with a camera and improving images to enhance the image.
Why not come along and meet us? You do not need to have a top of the range camera, just a desire to produce better photos. Doors open at 7:30 for 7:45 start. All are welcome, there is no charge for the first meeting but we will have a raffle. We look forwards to seeing you at the Tollbooth Courtroom

Club season starts next Thursday 3rd September with President’s Night featuring guest speakers Alex and Sara Wright of Flying Mirrors. This promises to be an interesting and informative meeting. Doors open at 7:30pm for 7:45 start. Meeting is open to public and entry is free and there will be a raffle. There will be a short break for tea and coffee during the evening.
We look forward to welcoming all to our first evening
