Sharing some thoughts and photos after David Olusoga’s talk at Cheese & Grain last Friday about The Great British Cup of Tea.

is such a great speaker and I’d highly recommend seeing him live if you get the chance. This was my second time seeing him in Frome.

Tea is something we all take for granted, so learning about it in more depth was really insightful. It took me back to this day in Sri Lanka which I hope you find interesting to read about.

After eight years running her jewellery business (and 3 years since our last photo project), Josie found herself entering a new chapter. The business had evolved alongside her life, and now it was time for her imagery to reflect where she was heading next.

|| Josie Mitchell Jewellery || booked the Brand Story Experience and rather than creating polished, perfection-driven imagery, we focused on documenting Josie’s authentic energy and tactile processes.

The connection between maker and client and the warmth of the workshop. The texture of the materials and Josie’s joy with making something by hand - things that AI can never replicate.

The resulting photography and promotional film now give Josie a versatile collection of stand-out visuals for her website, social media and marketing, helping potential clients see not only what she creates, but - most importantly - how it feels to work with her 🧡

Whilst camping along the Pembrokeshire coast last week, I had a realisation.

I hadn’t felt so calm and grounded since the last time I was camping the year before.

Yep, even though I had to walk across 2 fields to use the loo and one day it was so foggy that we couldn’t see the end of the pitch, I was completely and utterly at peace.

Being outside by default created a powerful mood and energy shift. I spend a lot of time outdoors, but this hit different.

The experience of living so in touch with the land for 5 days, combined with removing myself from socials and emails for 2 weeks (bliss) helped me feel a connection to myself that I didn’t know was missing.

I’ve journaled a lot since I’ve come back and feel like there is something very exciting just peeping over the horizon.

This year has been pretty awesome tbh and I’m really leaning into being a multi passionate artist 🎉

Balancing life and biz comes with lessons all the time, but I’ve settled into a good combo of buffer days and scheduled time off, alongside being super busy with client and personal projects 💪🏽

Willow is an animator, designer and stand-up comedian whose work is full of colour, creativity and humour, but this session carried a deeper significance too.

Creating her first set of professional personal brand portraits was all about celebrating everything they are, how far they’ve come, and their new found confidence to be truly seen 🎉

Willow Marler arrived with a bold creative vision and a clear sense of purpose. Through our collaborative Creative Direction Session, I produced detailed Shoot Plan that balanced ambition with practicality, creating two distinct visual worlds that support Willow’s creative life.

Hair and makeup artist ALTERNATIVE HAIR AND MAKEUP helped bring each look to life, while my brilliant pal and assistant Emily Joan helped keep the day running smoothly behind the scenes. Together, we created a studio environment where Willow felt free to express herself to the fullest!

The result was a collection of editorial style portraits that are playful, stylish and beautifully personal.
