Today is International Vulture Awarness Day.

I have a real soft spot for vultures and my favourite bird of all time is the lammergeier or bearded vulture.

Seeing these magnificent birds in Spain was a dream come true. I'm already planning a return visit with friends.

But today is about all vultures, raising awareness of their importance in ecosystems and the threats they face.

I've been digging out photos from the hard drives again for some drawings.

I want to create a series of pieces of African penguins, these are listed as Critically Endangered and I've been lucky enough to see them in the wild a couple of times in a couple of different locations.

Monday Morning.

Wow what a week this last one has been and I'm definitely feeling like this proboscis monkey.

Last Tuesday I underwent my 2nd spinal surgery to decompress a nerve at L4/L5 and although it went really well and has been successful, I ended up staying a couple of extra days in hospital due to a few blood pressure and pain issues.

Finally discharged on Thursday and then attend the Art Weekend at the Hawk Conservancy Trust at the weekend.

I am now fully home, exhausted but happy.

Time to drink tea, make winter decorations and rest and recover.

I'm definitely feeling like this sleepy proboscis monkey.

Have you ever seen a lemur throw a punch?

I hadn't until we visited Madagascar back in 2011, not sure what she did to deserve this, one minute they're sitting there in the morning sun, grooming etc and the next this happens.

Guess all families have their squabbles.

This is a troop of wild ring tailed lemurs we spent some time with.

This is a real life moment, no AI or processing trickery, it actually happened.
